S4 Ep 20Apologetics | Pork, Shellfish, and Mixed Fabrics: Why this Atheist Objection Fails

If you’ve ever heard someone say, “If Christians say homosexuality is sinful according to the Bible, then why don’t they also avoid pork, shellfish, and mixed fabrics?” this episode is for you. That argument sounds sharp, but it actually falls apart when Scripture is read in context. In this episode, we break down the structure of the Mosaic Law, explain the purpose behind those commands, and clearly address biblical sexual ethics regarding homosexuality. This isn’t about cherry-picking verses. It’s about understanding covenant, category, and how the law is fulfilled in Christ. We walk through Leviticus, Acts 15, the teachings of Jesus, and the foundation of creation itself to show why ceremonial laws were fulfilled while moral truths remain. The Bible treats dietary laws and sexual ethics differently, and once you see that, the objection loses its force. If you want a clear, confident, and biblically grounded response to one of the most common internet arguments, this episode will equip you to speak with both truth and clarity.#ChristianApologetics #BiblicalSexualEthics #Homosexuality #Apologetics #FaithAndReason #ChristianPodcast #TheologyMatters #BibleStudy #DefendingTheFaith #TruthMatters #GospelCentered #ChristianWorldview #KnowYourBible #Scripture #ChristianLiving #BoldApologia #SanctifyChrist #JesusIsLord #FaithOverFeelings #BiblicalTruth

S2 Ep 56Confrontation: The Missing Element in Christlike Love with Bill Newton

Confrontation. For many of us, that word alone stirs anxiety, avoidance, or memories of conversations that did not go well. But what if confrontation is not opposed to love? What if it is actually an essential expression of Christlike love?In this episode of the Shepherd Press Podcast, Shannon chats with Bill Newton, author of Confrontation: The Missing Element in Christlike Love. Drawing from decades of leadership in the military, business, and pastoral ministry, Bill shares how loving well sometimes requires speaking hard truths — and how avoiding confrontation can cause long-term relational and spiritual damage. With humility and honesty, Bill reflects on both personal failures and growth, reminding us that confrontation, when done biblically reflects Christlike love. This episode unpacks:How Christians often misunderstand love as avoiding hard conversationsWhat Scripture reveals about God as the ultimate confronterWhy fear, self-protection, and comfort keep us from confrontingThe importance of examining our motives before engaging in confrontationHow humility and repentance restore relationshipsWhy church discipline reflects Christlike love — not harsh judgmentHow to respond faithfully when confrontation is rejectedWisdom for receiving confrontation with humility instead of defensivenessRecommended Resources:Confrontation: The Missing Element in Christlike Love by Bill Newton

Ep 372Diving Deep: Unpacking Bill Johnson's Theology on Miracles

Andrew Rappaport, the host of the Rapp Report and Apologetics Live podcasts, dives into a thought-provoking discussion with Pastor Adam Parker as they tackle the complexities surrounding Bill Johnson's teachings. Right off the bat, they dissect the core issue: the problematic framing of power as the measure of a Christian's faith, as highlighted in Johnson's book "When Heaven Invades Earth." The conversation unravels the intricacies of Scripture versus experience, exploring how personal testimonies often overshadow biblical truths, leading to a skewed understanding of faith and miracles. Adam, coming from a continuationist perspective, emphasizes the importance of accountability to Scripture, even within charismatic circles, while Andrew, representing the cessationist viewpoint, raises critical questions about the implications of expecting miracles as normative. Their banter is sprinkled with wit, making this episode not just informative but also engaging, as they navigate the often contentious waters of theological discourse with a friendly touch. Listeners are invited to consider their own beliefs and join the ongoing dialogue, especially during the upcoming Apologetics Live episode where the discussion will continue. Listeners are treated to a thought-provoking dialogue on the Rapp Report, where Andrew Rappaport and Pastor Adam Parker dissect the theological implications of Bill Johnson's *When Heaven Invades Earth*. The episode dives into the heart of hyper-charismatic teachings, with Parker articulating his concerns about how these beliefs may mislead Christians by emphasizing experience over biblical truth. Rappaport, as the host, deftly navigates this complex discussion, highlighting the importance of sound doctrine and critical thinking in matters of faith. Parker's methodical approach involves a detailed analysis of Johnson's claims, particularly the assertion that power is the defining characteristic of a believer's life. This leads to a broader discussion about the nature of miracles, the role of faith, and how these concepts are often misrepresented within charismatic circles. The episode is rich with theological insights, yet remains approachable, as both hosts balance serious discussion with humor and camaraderie. They invite listeners on a journey of introspection, urging them to critically evaluate their beliefs and to align them more closely with scripture, fostering a sense of unity within the body of Christ despite differing views on spiritual gifts.Takeaways:In this episode, Andrew Rappaport discusses the theological implications of Bill Johnson's teachings, emphasizing the importance of aligning beliefs with Scripture rather than personal experiences.Pastor Adam Parker provides a unique perspective as a continuationist, engaging respectfully with cessationist viewpoints while critiquing the hyper-charismatic movement.Listeners learn that the relationship between power and faith is central to Johnson's writings, raising concerns about the potential misinterpretation of biblical texts. The conversation highlights the necessity of evaluating charismatic practices critically, ensuring that personal experiences do not overshadow scriptural truths.Rappaport and Parker address the broader implications of charismatic theology on the church and the potential dangers of prioritizing experience over doctrine. The episode encourages open dialogue among Christians of differing views, promoting a respectful exchange of ideas while seeking to uphold biblical integrity.Links referenced in this episode:StrivingForEternity.org/miracles Mentioned in this episode:Bible Interpretation made Easy seminar

Ep 83#82 - Divine Appointments: No Accident We Met.

In this episode of Gospel Talks, George Binoka and Jeff Musgrave tackle one of the most practical—and often confusing—questions in evangelism: What is a divine appointment, and how do you recognize one?Drawing from real-life stories and biblical principles, they explain how God is constantly at work around us, orchestrating moments where we can step into someone’s life at just the right time. The challenge isn’t figuring everything out perfectly—it’s being willing and available. You’ll learn:Why divine appointments are rooted in God’s providence—not your performanceHow to recognize when God is already working in someone’s lifeWhy willingness matters more than skill in evangelismHow to overcome fear, hesitation, and overthinkingThe role of patience and trusting the Holy Spirit in conversationsWhy stories are one of the most powerful tools in sharing your faithThrough powerful illustrations—including a moment of unexpected gospel impact in the middle of grief—this episode will encourage you to stop overanalyzing and start stepping forward in faith.Bottom line: You don’t have to create opportunities—God already has. Your role is to see them, trust Him, and walk through the door.

Faith, Politics, and Truth: How Christians Should Engage Culture Without Losing the Gospel

How should Christians think about politics in a divided culture? And where does faith fit into conversations about laws, morality, and public policy? In this episode, Derek and Dave welcome a guest with decades of experience in politics, education, and civic engagement. Together they explore how Christian faith intersects with government, culture, and public life. From the influence of the founding principles of the United States to modern debates around abortion, media narratives, and social issues, the conversation tackles difficult questions about morality, responsibility, and the role of believers in shaping society.Rather than offering political talking points, this episode encourages thoughtful discernment and a Christ-centered perspective. Ultimately, the discussion points back to a deeper truth: lasting cultural change doesn’t come from politics alone—it begins with spiritual renewal and transformed hearts.Clarity in chaos. Ep 379Sunday School Lesson: It's Time To Grow Up! (Hebrews 6:1-3)

This is a Sunday School lesson I planned for this Sunday. Our life group class at church is studying the epistle to the Hebrews.Hebrews 6:1-3 continues from the criticism in chapter 5 that some of the readers were perpetually immature. The writer admonishes to become mature by not laying foundational principles of the doctrine of Christ over and over again. These six doctrines are really three pairs. They all are something that the old covenant taught that the new covenant adapts, expands, or fulfills the type.We value your feedback!Have questions for Truthspresso? Contact us!

S4 Ep 19Sanctify Christ as Lord | Sanctify Christ as Lord in Judgement

In Episode 20 of Sanctify Christ as Lord, we confront one of the most misunderstood teachings of Jesus: judgment. In Matthew 7, Jesus does not forbid discernment. He confronts hypocrisy. We are not called to abandon judgment, but to practice it rightly, humbly, and under His authority. Christ commands us to judge with right judgment, not according to appearances. The question is not whether we judge, but whether Christ is Lord over how we judge. When judgment is rooted in pride, it condemns. When it is rooted in Christ, it restores. The gospel produces people who can speak truth without arrogance and confront sin without cruelty. As those who will stand before the ultimate Judge, we must walk in humility, examine ourselves, and pursue righteousness with a heart shaped by grace.#SanctifyChristAsLord #BoldApologia #ChristianPodcast #BiblicalTruth #RightJudgment #FaithAndTruth #ChristIsLord #ChristianLiving #Apologetics #GospelCentered

S4 Ep 17Sanctify Christ as Lord | Sanctify Christ as Lord in Motive

In Episode 19 of Sanctify Christ as Lord, we move beneath outward actions and into the hidden architecture of the heart. Two people can preach the same sermon, lead the same ministry, or perform the same spiritual act, yet one is honoring Christ while the other is building a name. In 1 Corinthians 4, Paul reminds us that the Lord will one day reveal the purposes of the heart. The real question is not simply what we do, but why we do it. When Christ is truly Lord, even our ambitions, intentions, and desires bow before Him.The gospel calls us to more than behavior modification. It calls us to inward transformation. God is not impressed by platforms, performance, or reputation. He is looking for faithfulness that flows from a heart surrendered to Him. To sanctify Christ as Lord in motive means living before the gaze of God, serving as faithful stewards, and desiring His approval more than the applause of the world.#SanctifyChristAsLord #BoldApologia #ChristianPodcast #BiblicalTheology #Apologetics #FaithAndTruth #ChristIsLord #ChristianLeadership #GospelTruth #ChristianTeaching

S4 Ep 16Sermon | The Pure in Heart | Matthew 5:8

In this message, “The Pure in Heart,” we explore one of the most searching statements Jesus ever made in the Sermon on the Mount: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” What does it actually mean to be pure in heart? Is Jesus talking about moral perfection, religious performance, or something deeper? In this sermon we unpack the biblical meaning of purity, exposing the difference between outward religion and a heart that is truly transformed by God.Jesus is not impressed with appearances. He is after the inner life. A pure heart is not a flawless heart, but a heart that has been cleansed by God and set wholly toward Him. When our hearts are undivided, we begin to see God more clearly in His Word, in His presence, and in the way we live. This message calls believers to examine their hearts, pursue holiness, and seek the kind of transformation that only the Holy Spirit can produce.#BoldApologia #SermonPodcast #ThePureInHeart #SermonOnTheMount #Matthew5 #ChristianPodcast #BiblicalTeaching #HeartTransformation #Holiness #FaithInJesus #ExpositoryPreaching

S4 Ep 15Sanctify Christ as Lord | Sanctify Christ as Lord in Leadership

Leadership in the Church is not ownership. It is stewardship. In 1 Peter 5, pastors are commanded to shepherd the flock of God, not their flock, not their platform, not their movement. Authority is real in the kingdom of God, but it is never meant to become domination. Peter warns elders to lead willingly, eagerly, and not domineering over those in their charge, but by being examples to the flock. The moment leadership becomes insulated from accountability, protected by a distorted “culture of honor,” or justified by gifting and influence, something has gone terribly wrong. This episode of Sanctify Christ as Lord confronts a sobering reality: revival language and spiritual gifting do not excuse abusive leadership. Christ is the Chief Shepherd, and every pastor, elder, and ministry leader will one day answer to Him for how they treated His people. Sanctifying Christ as Lord means leadership itself must bow beneath Him — marked by humility, accountability, and a genuine fear of God.#SanctifyChristAsLord #Episode18 #ChristianLeadership #1Peter5 #ShepherdTheFlock #ChurchLeadership #RevivalCulture #FearOfTheLord #BiblicalLeadership #JesusIsLord
