Faith, Politics, and Truth: How Christians Should Engage Culture Without Losing the Gospel

How should Christians think about politics in a divided culture? And where does faith fit into conversations about laws, morality, and public policy? In this episode, Derek and Dave welcome a guest with decades of experience in politics, education, and civic engagement. Together they explore how Christian faith intersects with government, culture, and public life. From the influence of the founding principles of the United States to modern debates around abortion, media narratives, and social issues, the conversation tackles difficult questions about morality, responsibility, and the role of believers in shaping society.Rather than offering political talking points, this episode encourages thoughtful discernment and a Christ-centered perspective. Ultimately, the discussion points back to a deeper truth: lasting cultural change doesn’t come from politics alone—it begins with spiritual renewal and transformed hearts.Clarity in chaos. Ep 379Sunday School Lesson: It's Time To Grow Up! (Hebrews 6:1-3)

This is a Sunday School lesson I planned for this Sunday. Our life group class at church is studying the epistle to the Hebrews.Hebrews 6:1-3 continues from the criticism in chapter 5 that some of the readers were perpetually immature. The writer admonishes to become mature by not laying foundational principles of the doctrine of Christ over and over again. These six doctrines are really three pairs. They all are something that the old covenant taught that the new covenant adapts, expands, or fulfills the type.We value your feedback!Have questions for Truthspresso? Contact us!

S4 Ep 19Sanctify Christ as Lord | Sanctify Christ as Lord in Judgement

In Episode 20 of Sanctify Christ as Lord, we confront one of the most misunderstood teachings of Jesus: judgment. In Matthew 7, Jesus does not forbid discernment. He confronts hypocrisy. We are not called to abandon judgment, but to practice it rightly, humbly, and under His authority. Christ commands us to judge with right judgment, not according to appearances. The question is not whether we judge, but whether Christ is Lord over how we judge. When judgment is rooted in pride, it condemns. When it is rooted in Christ, it restores. The gospel produces people who can speak truth without arrogance and confront sin without cruelty. As those who will stand before the ultimate Judge, we must walk in humility, examine ourselves, and pursue righteousness with a heart shaped by grace.#SanctifyChristAsLord #BoldApologia #ChristianPodcast #BiblicalTruth #RightJudgment #FaithAndTruth #ChristIsLord #ChristianLiving #Apologetics #GospelCentered

S4 Ep 18Theology | Time and Eternity | A Theological and Philosophical Examination

Time is the world we live in. Every moment unfolds in sequence, shaped by memory, anticipation, and change. But God is not bound by time the way we are. In this episode of the Bold Apologia Podcast, we explore the profound relationship between time and eternity, diving into Scripture, theology, and philosophy to understand how the eternal God interacts with a temporal creation. This is not just a theoretical discussion. It reshapes how we view our lives, our suffering, and our hope in Christ. If God stands outside of time, what does that mean for His sovereignty, His knowledge, and His presence in our lives right now? And what does eternity actually look like for the believer? This episode will challenge your assumptions, deepen your understanding, and anchor your perspective in biblical truth. Step into a bigger vision of reality and discover why eternity is not just something ahead of you, but something that is already breaking into the present.#BoldApologia #ChristianPodcast #Theology #Apologetics #TimeAndEternity #ChristianLiving #BiblicalTruth #FaithInChrist #GodIsEternal #ChristianContent #DeepTheology #PhilosophyAndFaith #ReformedTheology #ChristianWorldview #BibleStudy #PodcastLife #TruthMatters

S4 Ep 17Sanctify Christ as Lord | Sanctify Christ as Lord in Motive

In Episode 19 of Sanctify Christ as Lord, we move beneath outward actions and into the hidden architecture of the heart. Two people can preach the same sermon, lead the same ministry, or perform the same spiritual act, yet one is honoring Christ while the other is building a name. In 1 Corinthians 4, Paul reminds us that the Lord will one day reveal the purposes of the heart. The real question is not simply what we do, but why we do it. When Christ is truly Lord, even our ambitions, intentions, and desires bow before Him.The gospel calls us to more than behavior modification. It calls us to inward transformation. God is not impressed by platforms, performance, or reputation. He is looking for faithfulness that flows from a heart surrendered to Him. To sanctify Christ as Lord in motive means living before the gaze of God, serving as faithful stewards, and desiring His approval more than the applause of the world.#SanctifyChristAsLord #BoldApologia #ChristianPodcast #BiblicalTheology #Apologetics #FaithAndTruth #ChristIsLord #ChristianLeadership #GospelTruth #ChristianTeaching

With a focus on context and proper interpretation, Andrew and Pastor Dom challenge listeners to reflect on their own responsibilities and the moral implications of their actions in today’s world. S4 Ep 16Sermon | The Pure in Heart | Matthew 5:8

In this message, “The Pure in Heart,” we explore one of the most searching statements Jesus ever made in the Sermon on the Mount: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” What does it actually mean to be pure in heart? Is Jesus talking about moral perfection, religious performance, or something deeper? In this sermon we unpack the biblical meaning of purity, exposing the difference between outward religion and a heart that is truly transformed by God.Jesus is not impressed with appearances. He is after the inner life. A pure heart is not a flawless heart, but a heart that has been cleansed by God and set wholly toward Him. When our hearts are undivided, we begin to see God more clearly in His Word, in His presence, and in the way we live. This message calls believers to examine their hearts, pursue holiness, and seek the kind of transformation that only the Holy Spirit can produce.#BoldApologia #SermonPodcast #ThePureInHeart #SermonOnTheMount #Matthew5 #ChristianPodcast #BiblicalTeaching #HeartTransformation #Holiness #FaithInJesus #ExpositoryPreaching

S4 Ep 15Sanctify Christ as Lord | Sanctify Christ as Lord in Leadership

Leadership in the Church is not ownership. It is stewardship. In 1 Peter 5, pastors are commanded to shepherd the flock of God, not their flock, not their platform, not their movement. Authority is real in the kingdom of God, but it is never meant to become domination. Peter warns elders to lead willingly, eagerly, and not domineering over those in their charge, but by being examples to the flock. The moment leadership becomes insulated from accountability, protected by a distorted “culture of honor,” or justified by gifting and influence, something has gone terribly wrong. This episode of Sanctify Christ as Lord confronts a sobering reality: revival language and spiritual gifting do not excuse abusive leadership. Christ is the Chief Shepherd, and every pastor, elder, and ministry leader will one day answer to Him for how they treated His people. Sanctifying Christ as Lord means leadership itself must bow beneath Him — marked by humility, accountability, and a genuine fear of God.#SanctifyChristAsLord #Episode18 #ChristianLeadership #1Peter5 #ShepherdTheFlock #ChurchLeadership #RevivalCulture #FearOfTheLord #BiblicalLeadership #JesusIsLord

Ep 316Is the United States Engaged in a War with Iran? An In-Depth Analysis

The primary focus of this podcast episode is the complex geopolitical situation surrounding the United States and Iran, particularly the question of whether the United States is at war with Iran. Andrew Rappaport, host of the Rapp Report and Apologetics Live podcasts, engages with the audience to dissect the nuances of the current conflict and the differing motivations of the United States and Israel in their dealings with Iran. He articulates a perspective that suggests the actual battleground may not solely be in Iran but rather extends to the broader implications of U.S. foreign policy, particularly in relation to China. Throughout the discussion, Rappaport invites listeners to reconsider the narratives presented in the media and encourages a more nuanced understanding of the motivations behind military actions. Listeners are urged to reflect on the intersection of geopolitics and apologetics, as the complexities of these issues resonate deeply with the principles of defending one’s beliefs and understanding the context of global affairs. This episode promises to provide valuable insights and provoke thoughtful dialogue on these pressing matters.Takeaways:In this episode, Andrew Rappaport provides a nuanced perspective on the ongoing conflict involving Iran, emphasizing that the narrative presented in the media does not always align with the underlying realities of the situation. The discussion highlights the complexity of international relations, suggesting that the United States' actions may be more strategically focused on countering China's influence rather than solely addressing threats from Iran.Andrew Rappaport underscores the importance of critical thinking when consuming news, advocating for a balanced understanding that considers multiple viewpoints rather than accepting any single narrative as absolute truth. The episode also draws parallels between military strategy and apologetics, asserting that both require a careful examination of the information available and a recognition of the biases that may influence one's understanding.Rappaport argues that the historical context of U.S. foreign policy suggests a long-standing pattern of military engagement that transcends individual administrations, thus prompting listeners to think critically about current events in light of past actions.Ultimately, the episode encourages listeners to engage thoughtfully with geopolitical issues, reflecting on the implications of America's foreign policy decisions and their broader impact on global stability.Mentioned in this episode:What do We Believe by Andrew Rappaport

S6 Ep 14S6E14 - John Witherspoon and the Dominion of Providence (Black-Robed Regiment Series)

In this week's episode, I finish looking at the pastors known as the Black-Robed Regiment who, through their teaching and preaching, helped solidify and give a moral defense of the American War for Independence. Today, I end this series with John Witherspoon, who served as the President of the College of New Jersey (i.e., Princeton University) and then was chosen to be a delegate of New Jersey at the Continental Congress. Although John Witherspoon gave numerous sermons throughout his long life, one of the most influential was titled, Dominion of Providence Over the Passions of Man. This sermon was given in 1776 in Philadelphia just as the American Colonies declared independence from England. Witherspoon was the only active clergyman and college president to sign the Declaration of Independence, and so I hope that you will enjoy this brief look at one of our Founding Fathers. As always, if you have any questions or comments, please email me at [email protected] can follow also me on Facebook or Twitter, or go to http://www.governedbygod.comAnd if you would like to support the show, please consider becoming a patron!

Andrew and Pastor Dominic dive deep into the intricacies of Exodus 21 in this episode, tackling some seriously relevant biblical principles about justice and responsibility. They explore the consequences outlined in the scripture regarding the treatment of pregnant women and the implications of injury, demonstrating how these ancient texts still resonate in modern discussions, particularly around the value of life. With a relaxed banter typical of seasoned podcasters, Andrew and Pastor Dom navigate the nuances of the text, highlighting how the law distinguishes between injury to a woman and harm to a child and the resulting ramifications. They engage the audience with witty commentary and clever observations, ensuring that listeners not only grasp the biblical context but also see its application in today’s society. By the end of the episode, they emphasize the high regard the Bible has for women, challenging contemporary cultural narratives that often overlook this vital aspect. S4 Ep 14Examining Bethel | When Power Shapes Repentance

Episode 3 of the Bethel Doctrine Series is live: “When Power Shapes Repentance.” In this chapter, we examine how repentance is being reframed….not primarily as moral turning from sin to a holy God, but as a perceptual shift toward accessing an unseen realm. We carefully walk through the texts being used, quote them in context, and ask an essential question: are these conclusions coming from Scripture, or are they layered onto Scripture? This isn’t about denying the supernatural. It’s about guarding the authority of God’s Word so our hunger for power never reshapes our theology of repentance. When repentance becomes a gateway to activation instead of reconciliation, the entire Christian life subtly shifts…from surrender to system, from submission to mechanism. In this episode, we examine that shift with clarity, fairness, and precision. If we care about revival, holiness, and the glory of Christ, then repentance must remain what Scripture defines it to be.
