S6 Ep 2S6E2 - Charlie Kirk Martyred by Asherah
EIn this special edition of the podcast, I deviate from my planned recording in order to respond to the recent martyrdom of Charlie Kirk. I say 'martyrdom' because Charlie was a casualty within a spiritual war and was killed specifically because of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And while Tyler Robinson may have been the man who pulled the trigger, Charlie Kirk was ultimately murdered by Asherah. Do I mean to say that Tyler Robinson was demon-possessed? While that is not outside the realm of possibility, my central argument is that the battle over the ideas surrounding transgenderism is a spiritual battle that is thousands of years old. And so, on today's episode, I do a historical and theological dive into the topic of transgenderism to explain and expose the demonic forces behind it.As always, if you have any questions or comments, please email me at [email protected] can follow also me on Facebook or Twitter, or go to http://www.ericluppold.com/And if you would like to support the show, please consider becoming a patron!

The Gospel Will Not Be Silenced By A Bullet or Any Scheme of Man (Psalm 33)
Moments like the ones we’ve faced this week can stir up a storm of emotions in us—grief, anger, hopelessness, even the desire to retreat to the mountains and never interact with anyone again. These events press on us in ways that are hard to describe. But in the middle of it all, we must remember this: we serve and worship King Jesus. He was not caught off guard by any of the tragedies that took place this week. And none of these events diminish His authority or control in the slightest. As we begin today, I want to read from the Baptist Catechism, Question #10:Question: What are the decrees of God?Answer: The decrees of God are His eternal purpose according to the counsel of His will, whereby, for His own glory, He has foreordained whatsoever comes to pass. This is why theology matters. This is why it is so vital for you and me to be anchored in the Word of God.Ephesians 1:11 declares: “He works all things according to the counsel of His own will.”This may have caught us off guard, but it did not catch Christ off guard.

S6 Ep 1S6E1 - Romans 13 and Submission, Part 1
In this first episode of Season 6, I respond to a discussion of Romans 13 hosted by Rev. Chris Gordon on Abounding Grace Radio. In that conversation, Rev. Gordon, Dr. Jim Cassidy, and Rev. Dan Borvan look at Romans 13 and consider how that applies to Christians today. They also dive into related topics such as Theonomy and Christian Nationalism. While they say several true things, I believe that they misunderstand the Theonomist and Christian Nationalist position. At they very least, they are attacking a straw man and not dealing with the best Theonomist arguments. TTR 221 - The Disconnect: Why We Feel Far from God
This podcast episode delves into the profound experience of feeling disconnected from God, a sentiment that resonates with many individuals navigating their spiritual journeys. We explore the multifaceted reasons behind such disconnection, including spiritual burnout, unanswered prayers, and the burdens of sin and guilt. As we transition from a previous series, we emphasize the importance of recognizing that disconnection does not equate to abandonment by God; rather, it often stems from our own perspectives and circumstances. Through candid discussions and personal anecdotes, we aim to provide insights and encouragement for those grappling with their faith and seeking reconnection. Ultimately, our conversation seeks to illuminate the path toward understanding and overcoming feelings of disconnection in one's spiritual life.Takeaways: The sense of disconnection from God often stems from a self-centered mindset, which can impede spiritual growth and understanding. Experiencing spiritual burnout is a common phenomenon that can lead individuals to feel distant from God, necessitating a return to foundational faith practices. Unanswered prayers should be viewed as opportunities for growth and reflection, rather than sources of disconnection from God. It is essential to recognize that feeling disconnected does not equate to abandonment by God; He remains present even when we perceive silence. Engaging in honest prayer and reflection can help individuals reconnect with God during times of perceived distance or spiritual dryness. Building a strong community and maintaining regular engagement with Scripture can provide guidance and support in overcoming feelings of disconnection.

With a title as simple as Superman, this film stands in a long line of reboots that have stretched from George Reeves in the 1950s, to Christopher Reeve’s classic 1978 portrayal, to Dean Cain in Lois & Clark, and Henry Cavill’s darker modern version. Every generation seems to get its own Superman, and this one is tailored for a digital society. As Eve says in the episode, this upgrade reflects the themes that matter most to a 21st-century audience—media, politics, and social perception. And that’s what makes this reboot worth a closer look.In episode 164 of Are You Just Watching?, we’ll share our first impressions of Superman (2025)—what made us laugh, what made us raise our eyebrows, and how it compares to past versions. We’ll also highlight the music composed by David Fleming and John Murphy, which draws on John Williams’ unforgettable 1978 theme, and the performances that give this film its heart.More importantly, we’ll dive into the deeper themes. What happens when Superman acts without legal authority? How does Lex Luthor embody the love of money and the corruption that Scripture warns against? And what can Christians learn about discernment in a story shaped by digital spin and curated “truth”?That’s what you can expect from this episode—critical thinking for the entertained Christian, applied to the latest reboot of the world’s most recognizable superhero.Takeaways: The recently released Superman film serves as a modern reinterpretation, encapsulating contemporary social and political themes. The portrayal of Superman in this iteration emphasizes vulnerability, marking a departure from traditional invincibility associated with the character. The film effectively critiques the influence of digital media on public perception, echoing profound societal concerns regarding truth and misinformation. James Gunn's direction in this Superman film successfully balances entertaining storytelling with subtle social commentary, enhancing the viewing experience.

Ep 298Should Christians Use Preferred Pronouns? Truth, Compassion, and Conviction
The central theme of our discourse revolves around the contentious question of whether Christians should utilize preferred pronouns. This topic has resurfaced in light of recent discussions sparked by prominent evangelical figures, leading to a deeper examination of how Christians navigate the delicate balance between compassion for individuals and adherence to biblical truth. Throughout our conversation, we aim to articulate the complexities inherent in this debate, particularly the tension between demonstrating love and respect towards our neighbors while maintaining fidelity to God's created order as delineated in Scripture. We delve into the implications of affirming identities that diverge from biblical teaching, ultimately asserting that our commitment to truth must guide our interactions with those who identify differently. As we explore these issues, we invite our audience to reflect on the broader societal shifts regarding gender identity and the corresponding responsibilities of the Christian community. The podcast episode tackles the intricate issue of whether Christians ought to use preferred pronouns, a topic that has become increasingly relevant in contemporary discourse surrounding gender identity. Host Andrew Rapoport articulates a nuanced examination of the arguments both for and against the adoption of preferred pronouns within a Christian framework. Advocates for using preferred pronouns argue that such actions reflect a commitment to love and respect individuals, which is a core tenet of Christianity. They contend that demonstrating kindness by acknowledging an individual's chosen identity is essential for fostering understanding and community. In stark contrast, the opposing viewpoint posits that using preferred pronouns may inadvertently validate a false narrative about gender, thereby conflicting with the biblical understanding of creation, as articulated in Genesis 1:27, which asserts that humanity is created distinctly as male and female. Rapoport emphasizes the need for Christians to navigate this debate with discernment, balancing compassion for the individual with adherence to theological truths. The episode concludes with a call for reflection on how Christians can authentically engage with complex social issues while remaining steadfast in their beliefs, making it a crucial listen for those seeking to reconcile faith with the evolving cultural landscape.Takeaways: The podcast emphasizes the importance of addressing challenging questions about God and the Bible during live sessions. Preferred pronouns and their appropriate use in Christian contexts are discussed as a significant contemporary issue. Jude (Part 2) Theology Matters
What we teach and believe truly matters. What we present from the pulpit and in the Sunday School classroom carries eternal weight, because souls hang in the balance. If you cannot clearly articulate the elementary truths of the Gospel, you should not be teaching. We must remain faithful to hold the Gospel in the highest esteem. Those teaching a false or carnal gospel are in the same line and linage as the fallen angels from Genesis chapter 6.

Change The Room: Don't Let The Room Change You
The world can be a wild and unpredictable place. Along the way, we encounter people, places, and experiences that challenge us—sometimes in ways that threaten to change who we are at our core. If we’re not careful, these influences can shape us into something we were never meant to be.As I travel the country speaking to students and staff in schools, one message I emphasize repeatedly is this: ONE person can change the world.I know this firsthand because one person changed mine.Growing up, I attended a private school from first through eighth grade. But when I transitioned to a public high school, I was not well received. My freshman year was incredibly difficult—filled with loneliness, rejection, and uncertainty. I often tell schools across the country that I understand why kids hurt each other. Whether in school or in life, people can be mean. The way we treat one another matters. The words we speak, the kindness we show (or don’t show), and the way we acknowledge—or ignore—someone can completely shape their experience.By the end of my freshman year, I was exhausted and discouraged. I was ready to give up. Sensing my struggle, my father sat me down and walked me through Psalm 139—reminding me that God didn’t make a mistake in creating me. He told me that I was designed for a purpose, that I was placed in my mother’s womb for a reason. His words gave me a small boost of encouragement, but it wasn’t until a guy named Andy came into my life that everything truly changed.Andy had heard I could sing and asked if I wanted to join a band he was putting together. That simple invitation changed everything. Before that moment, I dreaded waking up every morning. After meeting Andy, I had a reason to get out of bed. He introduced me to the other guys in the band, and suddenly, I was part of something bigger than myself. I wasn’t an outcast anymore—I belonged. That one friendship shifted my entire high school experience.Looking back, I realize that Andy changed the room for me. And because of that, I made a decision: Everywhere I go, I want to be the person who changes the room instead of letting the room change me.One Person Can Change EverythingJust the other night, I heard a powerful testimony that reinforced this idea—that one person can change everything. The testimony came from a man who had spent time in prison. On his very first day in lock-up, another inmate approached him and gave him some unexpected advice:"This place has the power to change you. It’s like a pot of boiling water."Then he gave him three analogies:You can be like a carrot. The boiling water will make you soft, weak, and broken. You can be like an egg. The boiling water will harden you, making you bitter and cold.Or you can be like a coffee bean. The boiling water won’t change you—you’ll change the water. That one piece of advice transformed his entire experience. Instead of letting prison harden or break him, he chose to be the coffee bean. Today, he’s no longer a meth dealer—he’s a multi-millionaire motivational speaker who inspires others to rise above their circumstances. You Have the Power to Make a DifferenceNever underestimate the power of your presence, your words, and your actions.ONE person can change the world. So, never believe the lie that you don’t matter or that you can’t make a difference. Choose to be the person who changes the room—who brings hope, encouragement, and kindness wherever you go.Because the room doesn’t have to change you.You can change the room. You can now pickup my new book Change The Room: Don't Let The Room Change You Right here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FMXRRF7Q
