The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Sam’s Place: The Tale of a Small Town Cafe by Randy L. Quinn

Sam’s Place: The Tale of a Small Town Cafe by Randy L. Quinn https://www.amazon.com/Sams-Place-Tale-Small-Town/dp/B0DZC78VMM Sam’s Place tells the story of a small-town restaurant and its owner, Sam Davenport. We are invited into the lives of the people who live in Elkader, people who occupy roles familiar to anyone who has lived in a small town. The story is about the restaurant, and how the people who frequent it care for each other over several decades, serving as a model for the best life possible in every American community. About the Author Randy L. Quinn currently lives in El Dorado, Kansas, a much larger town than the setting for his most recent book, Elkader, Iowa. After serving as the pastor of several small-town United Methodist churches, he and his wife Ronda chose to live in El Dorado largely because it had a small-town feel. Randy grew up in military towns along the coast, following his father’s assignments in the US Navy. He graduated from high school in Oak Harbor, Washington, and earned his first degree at the University of Washington in Seattle. Having lived in several small towns, Quinn began to recognize common traits among them, almost as if the same people lived in each town but with different names. While he did not grow up in a small town, he learned to appreciate the values learned in these communities and the powerful pull they have to draw people back after they leave. When he retired, Quinn began writing for his personal enjoyment. Aside from writing, he follows the lives of his four children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren while keeping an active role in his church and community.

The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Unlicensed Medicine: Releasing Ancestral Trauma and Unleashing the Power of your Lineage by Dr. Meher Chahal

Unlicensed Medicine: Releasing Ancestral Trauma and Unleashing the Power of your Lineage by Dr. Meher Chahal Drmeherchahal.com https://www.amazon.com/Unlicensed-Medicine-Releasing-Ancestral-Unleashing/dp/1967587345 What if the emotional trauma you’re carrying isn’t even yours? Dr. Meher Chahal thought she had escaped her childhood trauma and shadows by becoming a psychiatrist. Initially, she was passionate about joining psychiatry as a result of her mother’s schizophrenia and the impact of the illness on her family system. But everything unraveled when she discovered her maternal ancestor was found guilty of the murder of her husband in a trial that made Indian Supreme Court history. Her carefully built career, her denial of past trauma, even her sense of self—suddenly, none of it felt real. In Unlicensed Medicine, Dr. Chahal takes you on a raw, unflinching journey from psychiatric residency to ancestral healing, revealing how generational trauma lives in our bodies and shapes our lives in ways we never imagined. This ancestral trauma essentially becomes a soul-level karmic debt that a child carries out of love and loyalty to the family system of origin. This isn’t your typical self-help book filled with gentle affirmations. This is shadow work for the brave—a guide to facing the parts of yourself you’ve been avoiding and alchemizing your deepest wounds into power. Through the lens of Family Constellations and somatic healing, Chahal shows us that breaking generational cycles requires more than positive thinking, conventional medications, and talk therapy. It demands radical honesty, nervous system rewiring, and the courage to feel everything you’ve been running from. If you’ve ever wondered: Why you keep repeating the same painful and self-sabotage patterns Why meditation alone isn’t enough Why your “perfect” life still feels empty What’s really beneath your anxiety, depression, or unexplained rage This book is your wake-up call. This is root cause healing at the deepest layer of all trauma. Something which most self-help books miss. Drawing from both Western psychiatry and spiritual healing on a soul level. Dr. Chahal offers a revolutionary approach to understanding trauma—not just as personal wounds, but as inherited burdens passed down through generations. With unflinching vulnerability, she shares her own journey of pain, discovery, and continuous healing—because this work is never truly “done,” and that’s exactly the point. Unlicensed Medicine is for seekers who are done with surface-level healing. For those brave enough to look into the shadow cage and reclaim what’s been hidden there. For anyone ready to honor their ancestors while returning their unprocessed pain. You are the cycle breaker your lineage has been waiting for. Warning: Side effects include sudden self-awareness, expanding your consciousness, audacious authenticity, and the uncomfortable realisation that most healing modalities don’t even come close to the root. The Good News? This powerful healing therapy may just heal your relationship with money, power, sex, and love! Since these are all deeply intertwined in the systemic constellation quantum field. After all, what’s the point of healing if it’s not practically useful? Because the experience of the material world is the most spiritual experience for a soul on this planet. About the author Indian-American doctor, model, psychological astrologer, angel investor and visionary entrepreneur trained in Family Constellation therapy Born into a lineage marked by her mother’s schizophrenia and a murder in her maternal line, she experienced firsthand the weight of trauma that Western medicine alone could not explain. After 11 years in medicine and psychiatry, she left the conventional path to follow a deeper calling. Her discovery and training in Family Constellations revealed a system she calls the most powerful healing modality on the planet — one that unites the science of epigenetics with the wisdom of the soul.

The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Stealing Forbidden Dreams by Edward L Alban

Stealing Forbidden Dreams by Edward L Alban https://www.amazon.com/Stealing-Forbidden-Dreams-Edward-Alban/dp/1962931005 Maria Diaz, originally from Ecuador, teaches math in a Miami high school. She is intellectual, loves poetry and likes music-from classical to Andean, to tangos-and suffers from insomnia. Sleep intrigues her. She does the math and figures that over a sixty-year span we sleep the staggering sum of twenty years. Where does all that time go? Is it a waste? Or does it have a hidden redeeming value? Finding answers to these questions becomes her quest. She reads extensively about the brain’s activity during sleep, she keeps a log of the few brief dreams that she remembers and manages to intertwine her conscious hours with her subconscious hours into a helix-like braid of her life, which she presents in the form of a novel. Her sleeping mind opens its doors and reveals her sleeping world. She meets her inner self: her id, libido, ego, alter egos, muses, and oracles. They all come alive as colorful human characters, vying for control of her life and her destiny. Maria’s Libido is a sexy look-alike who thinks it’s high time for Maria to lose her virginity. Her sassy Literary Muse advocates career change from teaching and mathematics. Her oracles are alter egos personified as older gentlemen who guide her in matters of philosophy. Every night, Maria is at the center of this seemingly schizophrenic reality filled with laughter, tears, adulation, and scorn. It is a wonderful world that she comes to love, but, as with all humans, Maria can’t remember her dream world when she is awake. Day after day, Maria’s parallel world is wiped away upon awakening. The only exceptions are wisps of dreams and little snippets that are still fresh when she awakens. But the bulk of her sleeping hours is off limits. This is where her treasures, her “forbidden dreams” are held by oblivion. And she intends to get them, if she has to steal them. It took her ten years to do it. The result is this work. Maria comes of age in many ways, she matures philosophically, she becomes sure of her convictions, and she lives her life by her own precepts. She shares with us how the mind at night interphases with the conscious world. We do relive our daytime life by night, and our night hours in turn do influence the decisions we make in the real world. But it happens so subtly, it is almost imperceptible. This is what we learn from her experiences.

The Chris Voss Show Podcast – All Shook Up: A Novel by Enid Langbert

All Shook Up: A Novel by Enid Langbert https://www.amazon.com/All-Shook-Up-Enid-Langbert/dp/1684632641 Enidlangbert.com This YA debut speaks to the continued interest in the teen culture of the 1950s—Elvis Presley, teenage rebellion—with a young girl embarking on adventure and music, ultimately uncovering family secrets. Being fourteen is especially hard in 1956, when the world is changing around you. Honor student Paula Levy was born into a family of historical victims: her mother’s youth was lost in the Depression and her father’s was destroyed in the Holocaust, an as-yet-unnamed event about which no one speaks. But Paula has heard the new music taking hold of the nation—rock and roll—and it has given her hope. And she has two friends to get her through life’s ups and downs: Holden Caulfield, hero of Catcher in the Rye, who shares her view of the world, and Barbara, a “cool” girl in her high school who unexpectedly shares Paula’s view of Holden. Paula’s mother is not a fan of Barbara, and she prohibits her daughter from associating with her. Paula manages to get around her mother’s rule and see Barbara anyway—but when Paula asks the wrong questions about her father’s past and Barbara is caught with her “boyfriend,” their private world of Holden, rock, and Elvis Presley crumbles. Angry with the adults in their lives, the two girls run away to find Barbara’s real father, a jazz musician. Disappointingly, he does not live in a mansion or socialize with Elvis—but Paula and Barbara may find something even better. About the author Enid Wolfe Langbert was not as adventurous as her protagonist, Paula, in high school, but she made up for it in the sixties by marching, sitting in, and raging against segregation and the war while, in her spare time, raising three children. Eventually, she went to law school. She loved zealously advocating for her clients as an attorney, whether they deserved it or not, until her husband became ill and she closed her practice to care for him. After he passed, she traveled widely and enrolled in an English literature master’s program. She is now writing her thesis, tracing the influence of James Joyce’s legal issues on his writing of Finnegans Wake—a topic about which she is unambiguously passionate. Enid lives in New York City.

Dannah Eve has always been street smart, and for the past several years, she has been sharing her advice, self-defense strategies, and safety tips with millions of engaged social media followers. With the encouraging tone of a savvy older sister, she has built a platform that teaches women how to think like a threat—mastering situational awareness, calculated deception, and the art of always being ready. This is survival on your terms. These are just a few of the rules she lives by: Lie to survive: You don’t owe a stranger your truth. Especially if it compromises your safety. On a date: Don’t rush to share your personal details—a Tinder match is not yet a trusted person. Living alone: Keep a pair of men’s shoes by the door; you’ll be a less-obvious target. While commuting: Never leave any personal information visible—such as your workplace ID, nametag, or packages showing your address. On vacation: Walk with confidence and a strong stride; a distracted person is an easy target. While driving: Never pull over for an unmarked vehicle; anyone can order police sirens and flashing lights online. At school: Research and use the available campus shuttles and safety services. Online: Phishing emails, fake texts, scare tactics—don’t bite, don’t click. If it’s “urgent” or too good to be true, it’s probably a scam. At a concert or other public place: Plan your exit strategy before you need it. In an unpredictable and often frightening world, Dannah Eve shows you how to weaponize your intuition—and back it up with real-world safety tactics that actually work. The Chris Voss Show Podcast – The Fox’s Tale by Jay Sherfey

The Fox’s Tale by Jay Sherfey https://www.amazon.com/Foxs-Tale-Jay-Sherfey/dp/1964462010 The Fox’s Tale is a fantasy story describing Jack Fox, a teenager, surviving in a dog-eat-dog world. He and his mother, Lilly, a physically disintegrating alcoholic, get by under the protection of Gracie Hargreaves: a success in the shipping business and lifelong friend of Lilly and others. Their town is Snakeport, often called the Snake, in a country known as the South. There is no central government and the law is whatever your strength allows you to command. Southern technology involves horses, wind, and gunpowder used in rifled muskets with firing caps. Consider this story a variation on the American Civil War in the 1860s mixed with the English Civil War in the 1600s with hints of Roman arrogance at their peak around 200 A.D. The North-fat, dumb, and happy-after coercing, bullying, and defeating the South in a war fought one hundred years earlier, steals southern children for the menial work needed to maintain an advanced culture with a centralized government. Northern technology is based on the projection of energy by its citizens: horseless vehicles, advanced medicine, advanced architecture, and other advantages. The war deprived the South of its projectors. The North takes what it wants in natural resources and slaves but pays well enough to find allies in the South. Not all Northerners are projectors In the North energy projection ability decides your vocation in life unless you are female. Women in the north are appreciated above southern men but not by much. Southerners in the minds of northerners were stupid, criminal, and incapable. Jack Fox changes everything.

Bushy Tail, a lively, energetic, inquisitive creature of the forest, reclaims the campground as his permanent residence. Nothing is beyond his ability to investigate and report back to Chatter, his mate. The campers all appear to have fun, especially with a character like Bushy Tail around. The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Sede Vacante!: Part One: Dogmatic Ecclesiology Applied to Our Times by Griff Ruby

Sede Vacante!: Part One: Dogmatic Ecclesiology Applied to Our Times by Griff Ruby https://www.amazon.com/Sede-Vacante-Dogmatic-Ecclesiology-Applied/dp/1532023766 Many concerned Catholics today, seeing the ways and teachings of Jorge Mario Bergoglio (Pope Francis), are asking themselves, Can that man be a real Catholic pope? From the time of Paul VI, a small contingent of faithful Catholics known as sede vacantists have expressed the gravest doubts that he and each of his successors in turn since then were real popes of the Catholic Church. This minority view, long dismissed by most, now emerges into a wide public view as Jorge Bergoglio seems to go out of his way to puncture every expectation a Catholic should have for a Vicar of Christ. But this latest step in the deCatholicization of the church is merely the fullest flowering yet seen of an erroneous direction taken during the Second Vatican Council. Those looking to find detailed lists of all the abominable acts and teachings of Jorge Bergoglio or his immediate few predecessors or justly deserved ecclesiastical anathemas heaped upon them will doubtless be disappointed. Rather, the severe theological implications of the Sede Vacante findings are explored and vindicated for the first time in a systematic and complete book form. In this volume, sixteen doctrinal categories are discussed and reconciled to the historical events in the church since Vatican II, showing the essential role of the Sede Vacante findings in sustaining the church’s supernatural claims.

The Resurrection of the Roman Catholic Church: A guide to the Traditional Catholic community by Griff Ruby https://www.amazon.com/Resurrection-Roman-Catholic-Church-Traditional/dp/0595250181 For nearly twenty centuries, the Roman Catholic Church withstood all the currents of change and history and maintained a closely guarded orthodoxy which has always served as the basis and center of all Christianity. Yet, it is as if all of that has been just arbitrarily swept away in the few years since Vatican II. Given what the Church has always taught about itself being indefectible, how could this have happened? Did that Council have something to do with that terrible loss of faith? Can the real Catholicism be found today, and if so, where? The shocking answer to this, once seen and truly understood, is as every bit as glorious as the original resurrection of Christ Himself, a tremendous source of faith and inspiration. It is a broad-based, longstanding miracle passing right before our eyes, have we but the Grace to see it for what it is.

The Chris Voss Show Podcast – Hairy Harry Couldn’t Hurry: An Imaginarium Of Imaginactions That Take Place In The Hot Days Of Summer by Victor Bello

Hairy Harry Couldn’t Hurry: An Imaginarium Of Imaginactions That Take Place In The Hot Days Of Summer by Victor Bello https://www.amazon.com/Hairy-Harry-Couldnt-Hurry-Imaginactions/dp/1963851846 Storiesbybello.com Dr. Victor M. Bello is an ophthalmologist who wrote this children’s book inspired by the sensibility of his two young boys Victor and Vincent. They were playing in the back yard at their tree house when papa observed them looking intently at one of the corners of the treehouse. Fearing that they could be looking at a wasp nest, father went at once to investigate. What Papa saw was the moment of inspiration to write about it. A spider web, under the rays of the sun, Filtering though the leaves of the trees, made it sparkle. I conceived the idea of writing about it and wanted to get them involved. They came up with great ideas to embellish the story. We called our descriptions “Imaginactions”. Essentially, I meant that the ideas from the fertile young minds were put into action in the story. They were 2.5 and 4 years old at the time. An “Imaginarium” was created. It was very rewarding to engage the boys in the production of this book. Dr. Bello has adopted the pen name “Bello” and that is how “Hairy Harry Couldn’t Hurry” was born. More episodes are in the making and the reader is certain to enjoy the development of more adventures of our friendly ageless spider and Victor and Vincent. Dr. Bello now lives in Mobile, Alabama where he works part time in his beloved specialty of ophthalmology.

Understanding What It Means to Be Born Again: And Things Pertaining to Being Born Again by Michael J Rech https://www.amazon.com/Understanding-What-Means-Born-Again/dp/B0DNV4VGDY Being born again is salvation, but what does the term “born again” mean? Understanding What It Means to be Born Again uniquely describes how to fully understand the term. Using scripture as an explanation, the author addresses controversial beliefs that religions disagree on, such as water baptism, why we have the Bible, whether swearing is a sin, and why babies go to heaven no matter what the parent’s religion is. The author discusses opinions from the Bible being disproved by stated facts from the Bible after a deeper study on these subjects. The reader will know what the Bible says about graven images and what Jesus says about the gate to heaven and the gate to hell. The author hopes his writing will be used to lead people to salvation and to help weak Christians to be strong in their walk with Christ.

The Chris Voss Show Podcast – The Score: How to Stop Playing Somebody Else’s Game by C. Thi Nguyen

The Score: How to Stop Playing Somebody Else’s Game by C. Thi Nguyen https://www.amazon.com/Score-Stop-Playing-Somebody-Elses/dp/0593655656 A philosophy of games to help us win back control over what we value The philosopher C. Thi Nguyen—one of the leading experts on the philosophy of games and the philosophy of data—takes us deep into the heart of games, and into the depths of bureaucracy, to see how scoring systems shape our desires. Games are the most important art form of our era. They embody the spirit of free play. They show us the subtle beauty of action everywhere in life in video games, sports, and boardgames—but also cooking, gardening, fly-fishing, and running. They remind us that it isn’t always about outcomes, but about how glorious it feels to be doing the thing. And the scoring systems help get us there, by giving us new goals to try on. Scoring systems are also at the center of our corporations and bureaucracies—in the form of metrics and rankings. They tell us exactly how to measure our success. They encourage us to outsource our values to an external authority. And they push on us to value simple, countable things. Metrics don’t capture what really matters; they only capture what’s easy to measure. The price of that clarity is our independence. The Score asks us is this the game you really want to be playing?
