Show Notes

Do you choose what works for others, or do you know you have the power to negotiate and choose what works for you?

In this episode of Choice, Change and Action, Simone Milasas talks with Shon van Orden about the art of negotiation and some simple tools you can use.

Most people look at negotiating as trying to get a result. What if it was simply the willingness for people to perceive what people have made matter, including the time structures they function from, and using that as leverage to create a different possibility?

If you do your research and you know what matters, what else is possible?

Questions And Tools:

  • Be clear on what you require and desire
  • Do your research to get a sense of what could be on offer in the area you're negotiating
  • Ask questions - what matters to them?Use the information you have as leverage e.g. what time of the year is best to negotiate, what can you offer them to get what you require, etc.
  • Have more than one option so you can walk away from a deal that doesn't work for you
