S1 Ep 178History Repeating

This week our three-ball get together and chat about a significant win on the DP World Tour where Alex Fitzpatrick survived the madness of DLF to complete a Fitz family double, while Gary Woodland was an emotional winner on the PGA Tour. There is also plenty of discussion of another troubling incident for Tiger Woods, Iain talks about his tumbling handicap, Eddie takes a trip around a storm-lashed East Lothian and Andrew quotes Hull's most famous librarian. This pod is brought to you by: www.petermillar.co.ukAlso supported by: www.ping.comVery poor Instagram content at: @chippingforecastEmail: [email protected] Hosted on Acast. S1 Ep 177Not Tsen Percent

An episode which is frankly too long, but you are of course free to split it in two, or stop listening whenever you have had enough. BUT, stick around if you want a slightly drunk Eddie after one glass of champagne to mark another top-ten finish, in Hainan, where he was steered around by an ever-smiling man called Tsen. That's as much as we know, really. Eddie gives the inside track on equipment changes and another impressive performance to take him into an enforced break as well as an enforced holiday until he can find a reasonable flight home. Or until he can get his bank card to work.Once Eddie has left / fallen asleep, Iain joins to chat about all the other golf taking place recently - Matt Fitzpatrick bouncing back to win on the PGA Tour, Bryson Dechambeau going head to head with Jon Rahm in a raucous LIV South Africa and Iain himself playing some mixed foursomes. There is also discussion of the DP World Tour brain drain and the possibility of a Ryder Cup without Rahm. S1 Ep 176Half a World Away

In this episode we find our intrepid trio separated by 9000 miles and twelve hours of time-zones with Iain in Florida, Andrew in the UK and Eddie in Hainan, having earned a late place in next week's tour event. By the wonders of technology they are all able to discuss a dramatic finish at The Players Championship where Cameron Young took the title and Matt Fitzpatrick came up just short. The three talk about the unconventional rise of Sudarshan Yellamaraju, wonder if they should be concerned about Scottie Scheffler and ask the crucial question 'Will Eddie say a word to his caddy this week?' There's also a new golfing goal for Iain and a history lesson on a 19th century Republican Senator, whether you want it or not.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukCheck out: www.ping.comEmail: [email protected]: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. S1 Ep 175BONUS - The Players and the Foursomes

A bonus episode to bring news ahead of The Players Championship and at the end (for Eddie and Andy Murray at least) of the Sunningdale Foursomes.Eddie, Andrew and Iain discuss Brian Rolapp's ideas for the PGA Tour and Rory's back injury as well as Eddie's chances of a trip to China and a very honest interview from Gary Woodland on his psychological struggles. S1 Ep 174Ramble, Big Man, Ramble.

With Iain somewhere en route to the Players Championship, it's up to Andrew and Eddie to hold the fort this week, which they don't technically manage to do as Andy Murray scales the walls to join in and look ahead to the Sunningdale Foursomes. There is also conversation about Eddie's performance in Johannesburg and how he can carry the solid form of his South African trip forward when he has little competitive golf coming up, except to partner with a former tennis player against the man who was once the best youth golfer in Europe. The wins for Dan Bradbury, Akshay Bhatia and Jon Rahm are also discussed, while they wonder if there should be concern about the form of Scottie Scheffler or the injury to Rory McIlroy. The answer is probably no, but serious worries remain about the number of dogs heading for Sunningdale.Brought to you by: www.petermillar.co.ukVisit: www.ping.comInstagram: @chippingforecastEmail: [email protected] Hosted on Acast. S1 Ep 173Stop Jumping, Jen.

HAIL THE CONQUERING HERO... except for the four players ahead of him whom he didn't quite conquer. It was a great weekend for Eddie though as he finished 5th in the South African Open and is still in Stellenbosch to give us all of the details, including a hot putter, an unplanned equipment change and a caddie who simply enjoys it all too much. There is also discussion of Shane Lowry's meltdown at the end of Cognizant Classic in Florida and his admirable post-round chat with the media. The three then talk about the layers which are now clearly forming in the professional game and find time to praise the talent in British Women's golf as well as Chris Wood on the MENA Tour. They then wonder if Andy Murray will lay on a private jet to get Eddie back in time for a practice round ahead of the Sunningdale Foursomes. If he doesn't, he's just not taking it seriously.Brought to you by: www.petermillar.co.ukVisit: www.ping.comEmail: [email protected]: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast. S1 Ep 172Life Choices, LIV Choices.

This week two become three again as Iain returns from his travels to tell us that he's going travelling again, but also to join Andrew in asking Eddie if he thought he should have made more of an effort in getting to Kenya. There then follows a series of reflections on what Eddie - and indeed all humans - want from life.In golfing terms they discuss Jon Rahm's refusal to pay his fines and whether it leaves him out in the Ryder Cup cold, Jacob Bridgeman's win at Riviera, Nelly Korda's stay-at-home attitude and Eddie's preparations for the SA Open at Stellenbosch.Peter Millar Journeyman sneakers: https://www.petermillar.co.uk/p/journeyman-sneaker/ma26ef31_LGPWT.html?dwvar_ma26ef31_color=LGPWTVisit: www.ping.comInstagram: @chippingforecastEmail: [email protected] Hosted on Acast. S1 Ep 171Kim, Collin and Karen

Reasons to be cheerful this week. Not - you will be unsurprised to hear - from Andrew, but from Eddie who, despite a tough final round on the greens of Fancourt is bullish about his form. The two of them discuss that, as well as an incredible performance from Anthony Kim providing LIV, for all their millions spent, with their greatest story. There is also mention of Collin Morikawa getting back to winning ways at Pebble Beach and Charley Hull making house alterations after her triumph in Saudi Arabia. Then Andrew takes a lemsip-inspired deep dive into the the rich history of Karen Country Club, where Eddie is among those playing in this week's Magical Kenya Open.Visit: www.petermillar.co.ukPing Prodi G clubs at: www.ping.comEmail: [email protected]: @chippingforecast Hosted on Acast.
