The Challenge on CBS, take two! This time around, no dating shows allowed, and damn near no Amazing Race allowed, in their place, it was an all out battle of Big Brother, Survivor, and MTV Vets vying to take home the title of USA 2 Champ and the properly explained $250,000 that came with it. Iconic seasons were played, redemption was had, Devin wasn’t there but his age old adage of Big Brother sucks definitely stood the test of time, Josh got emotional, Michele overpromised, Michaela avoided list making, TJ brought a hopper, eliminations got wacky, dailies got fair, Amanda played villain, Tori had a showmance, the whole house maybe actually had a tiny bit of fun that we actually got to see happen on our television screens? A new season of Survivor is upon us and with it comes a new version of this podcast! We are officially taking on a new show here at Challenge Historian, and will be transforming into Survivor Historian every week throughout Survivor 45s run. And for the first time in the history of this podcast Jacob will be joined by a permanent co-host, the one and only Tony Lantz!You may recognize Tony from The Challenge Fandom podcast where he co-hosts on all of their incredible Challenge coverage. Being the lifelong Survivor fan and all around wonderful human that he is, Jacob just knew Tony would be the perfect co-host to bring in for the season to fill the role of a true Historian of the franchise. In this inaugural episode, Tony and Jacob start by going over their individual histories with the Survivor franchise, then cover some thoughts on the biggest changes that have come with the modern Survivor game, before doing a cast member by cast member breakdown of Season 45, high level thoughts and hopes for the season, and finishing it out with a whole bunch of predictions.Yes, it’s nearly three hours long, but it’s three hours well worth it if you are a Survivor die hard like us.
