He served for six years as the State Representative for Gillespie, Comal, and Kendall counties. I focused on the issues affecting hardworking individuals and seniors in my district, such as rising property taxes, water resources, the challenges associated with rapid growth, the protection of Second Amendment rights, protecting the unborn, combating unfunded state mandates on our schools, reducing overregulation, lowering taxes on our businesses, and safeguarding our God-given private property rights. Here are some key legislative accomplishments: Fought to preserve the heritage of the Alamo, safeguarding it from misguided woke agendas. Successfully passed a Border Security bill with bipartisan approval and support, laying the foundation for Operation Lone Star. Authored important legislation to protect private property rights from the adverse effects of rock quarries and other aggregate operations. Co-founded the Texas Freedom Caucus, dedicated to advancing conservative principles in the state. Defeated numerous detrimental legislative bills that posed a threat to conservative values.
