Ohio State spring football is underway, and two Buckeye leaders are already making headlines. Quarterback Julian Sayin and defensive end Kenyatta Jackson Jr. met with the media and revealed key insights into the direction of the 2026 Buckeyes.
Sayin discussed adding 5–10 pounds of muscle, taking more control at the line of scrimmage, and stepping into a bigger leadership role for an Ohio State team with 51 new players. The second-year starting quarterback is also working to become more dangerous with his legs while continuing to build chemistry with superstar receiver Jeremiah Smith.
On the defensive side, veteran edge rusher Kenyatta Jackson Jr. explained why he returned to Ohio State, his goals to become a more complete pass rusher, and the leadership role he's taking on in a defensive line room full of newcomers.
Jackson also shared strong praise for Zion Grady and Alabama transfer Qua Russaw, hinting that the Buckeyes may have serious talent emerging along the defensive front.
