If you only get your news from the mainstream media, you’ve probably heard that the world’s about to end because of “Russian aggression”. Of course, as always, that’s a highly filtered version of the story. To understand what’s happening with Russia and Ukraine, we really need to understand what happened at the end of the Cold War, with Russia, NATO and the United States. On this episode, we delve into the history so we can understand the present. We talk about the infamous “one inch” promise and the how the USA has slowly increased pressure on Russia. As always, this isn’t a story about the good guys versus the bad guys. It’s a story about history and nations trying to protect their interests.
