The U.S. state of Texas has introduced strict new abortion laws banning terminations after just six weeks of pregnancy.

Dr David Smith is associate professor in American Politics at the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney.

Professor Smith takes us through why the laws were implemented and the incredible way they have been legislated, encouraging a form of anti-abortion vigilantism.
