Welcome to the Bridge, a podcast all about resiliency and overcoming obstacles. I'm your host, Dr. Linda Fedrizzi-Williams, the president of Central Penn College. On today's podcast, we will be speaking to the President of the Harrisburg Senators, Kevin Kulp. Kevin is entering his sixteenth season as President of the Senators after joining the Senators in July of 2008. Earlier in his career, Kevin started his journey in professional baseball as an intern with the Charleston RiverDogs in 1995 in his hometown of Charleston, South Carolina. After the internship concluded, he helped a start-up baseball franchise, the Delmarva Shorebirds, from 1996-1999. From there, he spent nine years working for the start-up Lexington Legends in Lexington, Kentucky, working as the Director of Sales from 1999-2004 and as the General Manager from 2004-2007 before coming to Harrisburg in 2008. Kevin attended the University of South Carolina, where he graduated in 1995. He met his wife, Renee, while working with the Shorebirds. Renee also worked for the team and moved to Lexington as the first two employees of the brand-new team in Lexington. Kevin and Renee have two children, a 21-year-old daughter named Jordan and a 17-year-old son named Brandon. They are currently residing in Mechanicsburg, PA. Today, we will discuss Kevin's rise in the baseball industry, including his time at the University of South Carolina, working with his first professional franchise, and the modern state of minor league baseball. Please join me in welcoming Kevin Kulp!
