Geboren und aufgewachsen in den saharauischen Flüchtlingslagern, war Fussball schon immer die Leidenschaft von Mohandi. Angefangen hat er mit einem Ball aus Stoffen und Plastik, einem Tor aus zwei grossen Steinen und barfuss. Heute ist Mohandi Fussballtrainer in Kanada und gibt all sein Wissen und seine Sicht der Dinge aus der Zeit als Flüchtlingskind, das er immer noch im Herzen trägt – wie Hoffnung und Überleben – an die junge Generation von Fussballspielern weiter.
Am Ende des Podcasts gibt es eine Überraschung und eine lustige Geschichte, die Cheija über ihren Gast erzählt, zu hören.
Born and raised in the Sahrawi refugee camps, football has been always the passion of Mohandi. Starting with a ball made by cloths and plastic, a goal signed by two big rocks, and barefoot. Now Mohandi is a football coach in Canada and is spreading all his knowledge and way of seeing things from that refugee child he carries still in his hearts—such as hope and survival— among the football players young generation.
