With the motion to sign and ratify the Trans Pacific Partnership agreement passed by the Dewan Rakyat, Malaysia's entry into the bloc is closer to becoming a reality. We look into TPP's machinations including whether it is a tool for American hegemony as well as how the agreement would potentially sit with other trade pacts like the RCEP (Regional Comphrehensive Economic Partnership) pushed by China and Asean's AEC.
