Show Notes

Irina Bokova, Director General of Unesco, tells how the UN agency is allocating resources to fight illiteracy. UN's Millenium Development goal is that by 2015, every child should be able to complete a full course of primary schooling. EFA Global Monitoring Report for 2009 reported that a relatively large number of countries are far from achiveing education for all by this year because 75 million children are still out of school, half of whom are in Africa.
