Tim Mulholland, Managing Director, China-America Capital Company, Chicago, discusses his take on the talks between Barack Obama and Hu Jintao, partciularly on fostering commercial ties (and their differences on currency policy and human rights?, Obama;s (increasingly) tougher line with China, saying their prosperity linked to US military presence, and whether it is true that China has an image problem in the West.
He also rates the chances of an interest rate increase in China after its growth accelerated to 9.8 percent in the fourth quarter of 2010.
Finally, he shares his short-term outlook for US shares, given that the S&P is trading at the highest level since Aug 2008.
