Show Notes

Clifford Clement, Executive Director, Malaysia Nature Society, talks about its work in conservation and education, in addition to its work in parks. He focuses in particular on Wetlands (and whats at stake), the Ramsar Convention, pollution, land use conversion, and reclamation, which are threats that affect all wetlands ecosystems.
He also discusses deforestation and what the MNS does about this issue and its successes, when its work helped result in the gazetting of Endau-Rompin as a National Park. He also discusses the significance of Important Bird Areas (IBAs).
He also touches on his transition from a 25-year career in banking into conservation.
