He is the sixth Executive Director of the UN Environment.
Erik is the Vice Chair of the China Council for international cooperation on environment and development.
He is a well-known global leader in environment and development.
He is also an experienced peace negotiator.
He has been the Norwegian Minister of Environment and International Development from 2005 to 2012.
Erik also serves on the boards of several organisations from around the world.
