- He is on the board of 1-54, the largest African contemporary art fair and Greene Light Stage (Old Vic Productions) in London.
- Tarek is also the creator of Front/Back, a social venture that nurtures and promotes music and art from Africa and its diaspora.
- He is the co-founder and former CEO of the Ghana Triathlon Federation and was the Honorary Consul of Cape Verde in Ghana, nominated by Mo Ibrahim Prize Laureate, HE Pedro Pires.
- Tarek was a Director at Man Group (GLG Partners) and began his career as an academic at the University of Cambridge where he obtained his PhD.
