A bill that would eliminate straight ticket voting in Indiana (Only 8 states still have it). And a bill that would affect the who can serve on local planning commissions. Tom also serves on the Roads and Transportation committee. There is a bill moving through the statehouse that will eliminate all handheld devices starting July 1st. No more texting, talking on handset, using apps, or websites while driving. There is also a possibility of cameras being installed in construction zones to enforce existing laws. We also dig into the results of the #RedForEd rally and what steps have been taken to respond to their requests. Finally, Indiana second amendment groups have been getting traction following Senator Greg Taylor’s filing of a bill restricting gun sales to those 21 and over, limiting magazines to 10 rounds, and banning bump stops. Ultimately the planning commission tied at 4-4. Planning Commision members Dan Roach, Ed Yanos, Justin Curley, and Rachel Clark voted yes. Members Larry Brayton, Tom Green, Kenon Gray, and Dale Cole voted no. Member Olene Veach recused due to a conflict of interest as a lease signer in the project.
