PTKickass brings The Blue Zone back to RadioSEGA with a special episode for WinterFest 2021 featuring the latest Sonic news, music and community remixes.

WinterFast Part 2 is here and PTKickass brings back our Sonic centric Blue Zone for this year's festivities. It's been a slow year in terms of game news and releases, so we're gonna have to make our own fun, including a giveaway of Sonic Forces. We didn't have to give away coal, but this new special episode is your treat!

Sonic's latest entry as of now yet again has us scratching our heads as to what happened and where to go next, sort of like this penultimate episode of The Blue Zone!

In a curveball that no-one expected, SEGA decided to take Sonic back to his roots by making a 2D sprite based platformer. After the many disappointing cashgrabs intended to reinvigorate nostalgia, SEGA turned to Christian Whitehead, PagodaWest Games and Headcannon to put things right. Whether you love the game or loathe it, there's something that everyone can admire about the rags to riches nature of how this game came to be, and that's what this episode of The Blue Zone is here to capture!

Sonic Runners holds the record not in the 100m Sprint, but instead for being one of the only major SEGA titles to have gone missing in action. Hey, it's an improvement right?! Sonic 4 Episode 2 was the unwanted sequel to the unwanted sequel upon release, which sounds like a recipe for success if you ask me. More important than all of this though (according to Discord) is the one question you should always stop and ask: "Did Sky Fortress Act 2 make the cut?"

Although it went down well with SEGA fans and its dedicated fanbase, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing wasn't quite as earth shattering as SEGA had hoped it would be. Instead of hiring a different studio, SEGA placed their full faith once again in Sumo Digital to produce the goods as they had time and time again, resulting in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, often considered to be one of the most skillful kart racers in existance. Sonic turned 20 in June 2011, and SEGA weren't going to let their star franchise have a sour birthday yet again. Sonic Generations is everything that 06 isn't, and that's a positive. Join PT in celebrating the most celebratory game in the series to date!

No matter how you spell it, Sonic Colo(u)rs was considered at the time to be Sonic's return to form, a game to smash through the shovelware of the recent years, but does that stance still hold up? Due to fan demand, SEGA decided 15 years after the last numbered entry that suddenly a Sonic 4 needed to exist, and we politely asked them to turn back that decision upon booting into Splash Hill.
