Sam and Will walk through Exodus 17 and discuss the grumbling of the Israelites. In this chapter, we find two events that anticipate the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Lord brings forth water from a rock, and then He shows the Israelites that they can find victory in battle when their champion Moses stretches out his hands atop a hill.

Sam and Will discuss the stunning faithfulness of God in leading the Israelites into the barren Sinai wilderness. As the Israelites grumble, the Lord does not respond with punitive wrath or abandonment. He feeds them and requires them to rest. With the aim of achieving liberty and equality, the godless, man-centered philosophies of Rousseau, Voltaire, and Diderot led the French into a violent and convulsive revolution that sought to purge God from government. This resulted in a genocidal campaign of terror.
