Show Notes

In this video listen to Esther chapter 10, read by David Alley, followed by comments and prayer.

In Esther 10 we discuss the sixth shortest chapter in the Bible, and the third time that Jewish person has risen to the equivalent rank of Prime Minister. Mordecai becomes the second in charge of the entire Persian Empire because of the Lord’s providence.

In this book Mordecai takes the symbolic type of the Holy Spirit, Esther takes the symbolic role of Christ and the King is God our Father.

And, there are of course extra sections to the book of Esther included in the Apocryphal books - aka the Catholic Bible - which will be covered when we get there after we conclude our New Testament videos.

Some think that Mordecai was not the author, because he would not have said this about himself. But Moses did say things about himself in Numbers 11 that seem hard to reconcile with his authorship. Sometimes the truth is stated even by one’s own self.
