In 2 Kings Chapter 8 there was a seven year famine which Elisha predicted - and sent away the Shunamite woman. This chapter covers her return, and the mysterious appearance of Gehazi who is supposed to be leprous.
Elisha also goes to Syria - to Damascus - but why?
We meet Hazael the terrible king of Aram
And we meet Jehoram the 5th king of Judah.
And, Athaliah, Ahab’s nasty daughter from up north marries into the southern royal family bringin all sorts of complications… and future problems.
And Ahaziah is the sixth king of Judah, and is the grandson of Ahab, believe it or not. Did you know that Christ is descended not only from David, but from Ahab, and quite possibly from Jezebel too?
At this point the kings of north and south are relatives, and both families are Baal worshippers.
This chapter covers a lot, and the politics of the two nations get much more interesting.
