In 2 Kings Chapter 24 is the first time Nebuchadnazzer came against Judah was here in 605 BC and he took away key people. This was the beginning of the 70 years prophesied by Jeremiah, which Daniel who was in the first round of exiles counted from.
Jeremiah 25:11 “This whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years.”
Nebuchadnazzer came three times - these dates are only approximately correct.
605 BC during the reign of Jehoiakim - exile of Daniel
597 BC during the reign of Jehoiachin - exile of Ezekiel & Jehoiachin
586 BC during the reign of Zedekiah - exile of Zedekiah
There has been a giant long and very patient process by the Lord to redeem his people, but finally they are punished for their sins. And yet somehow through the process God still is at work in salvation history. Of the mystery of God!!
