In this video listen to 1 Samuel Chapter 28, read by David Alley, followed by comments and prayer.

In 1 Samuel Chapter 28 the Philistines are mobilising for full scale war against Israel and David is asked to join them. David and his men are now in a very tricky position. They have played the double agent for years, and now the rubber hits the road where their loyalty will surely be exposed. We will see how the Lord helps David through in the chapters after this. Meanwhile Saul is terrified and enquires of the Lord, who ignores him.

Saul had treated the Lord so badly, killing the priests and chasing the one anointed to be king, is it any wonder God wouldn’t talk to him. However the real reason is that Saul was rejected by God and the Lord was in the process of putting him to death as advised in 1 Chronicles 10:13. So Saul turns to the witch of Endor, a medium, proving he had no regard for God.

The Lord outlawed mediums and the like in Deuteronomy 18:10-12. In Leviticus they were commanded to be put to death. In the New Testament the same prohibition is found in Galatians 5:19-21 where it lists witchcraft as a fruit of the flesh. Paul says that anyone who lives like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. The second death is the eternal death and thus the real death, and with this in mind the sin of witchcraft still carries with it the same penalty.

This video will discuss whether the witch of endor actually brings up Samuel, or pretends? This video will also discuss why is it wrong to consult a medium instead of consulting the Lord? Finally, who else in the Bible does God put to death because he is displeased with them? Watch the video and find out.
