In this video listen to 1 Chronicles Chapter 12, read by David Alley, followed by comments and prayer.
In 1 Chronicles 12 even before David is king of Judah, men are leaving the tribe of Benjamin, even while David is hiding from Saul. When we are persecuted for our faith, it is a witness to the Lord, and just as David drew people to his way during his persecution, so can we. In fact this is often the easiest time to be a witness because we don’t have to say much, simply forgive those who oppress and do our best to love in return. Our actions speak louder than any word.
Not only did valiant men of Benjamin join David, now we are given a list of valiant men from Gad, and also from Manasseh, both from across the Jordan. Even men of Simeon and some of Ephraim join David.
Under the new covenant Israel is the church, and all Israel is all who have given their loyalty to Christ. They come from all walks of life, some at Gadites, some Benjamites, some Simeonites and some from the tribes of Joseph, but all believers regardless of stripe, culture, or denomination, if they love Christ are a part of Israel. Thus all Israel will serve Him.
When Christ is king there will be joy in all the Earth. Christ is already king - seated on the throne at the right hand of the father in Heaven, and he rules the nations. But yet not all have seen his kingship, but the day is coming, and there will be joy.
