As a pleasant surprise, we only had one episode this week, but it luckily did not lack the drama. Last week’s preview teased that something was going to send the whole beach into tears, and that it did. After choosing Rodney at the rose ceremony, Eliza still ended up breaking his heart. This week we get two episodes of what Jared calls “couples beach.” It seems like everyone is paired up and enjoying a drama free moment in paradise…until Genevieve and Aaron give everyone a show. Another week down and it might have actually been our most dramatic week yet. The split is over and Jesse Palmer was noticeably struggling to get these women to the end. Essentially, the original women were not having it and Jesse was their stand-in therapist. Believe it or not, some of the reunions on the beach did not go as smoothly as some would have hoped. Jesse promised us a twist this week and he definitely delivered. “The Split” might seem familiar to fans of other dating shows, that’s because they basically pulled it directly from Love Island. How do Jared and Kay feel about this you ask? 10/10 – Jared wants them to go even further and steal elements from even more reality shows. For once, it feels like the producers played their cards right. On the other hand, they also forced us to watch this clearly orchestrated situation between Michael and Danielle for far too long. We already know the producers have a heavy hand on the show, at least hide it a little better.
