Ep 16Josh Forti on Pausing for Clarity to Build a God-Centered Business (Full Episode)

Josh Forti is an entrepreneur podcast host and online marketing expert who has generated over $20 million in revenue, run an audience of over 10 million on Instagram, and whose podcast has had over 1.5 million downloads. But beyond the impressive numbers, Josh is a man who has walked through the refining fire of adversity. From losing his brother in a tragic accident to watching his business crumble beneath him, Josh has faced his share of dark nights of the soul. In those moments, Josh had to confront the parts of his identity that were wrapped up in external accomplishments and learn to ground his worth in Christ alone. Through inner work and wise counsel, he emerged with a renewed focus and faith, ready to rebuild in alignment with God's calling on his life. Now, Josh uses his platform to help equip other entrepreneurs to pursue God-given success without losing themselves in the process. With vulnerability and conviction, he shares lessons learned about the power of a strong identity, the freedom found in simplicity, and the importance of making room for rest and reflection. In this honest conversation, Josh pulls back the curtain on his own journey of unlearning hustle culture, creating healthy rhythms, and keeping the main thing the main thing. Whether you're feeling the weight of leadership battling burnout, or simply sensing God inviting you to step back and reevaluate, Josh's story will embolden you to embrace the power of pause. Get ready for a perspective-shifting dialogue on what it means to build a life and business that honor your truest priorities, even if that means doing less to ultimately achieve more.Life Before Christ: Choosing Monetary Gain Over FaithToday, Josh Forti is passionate about making Jesus known in everything he does. But that wasn’t always the case. Rather, Josh says he — like many Christians today — grew up understanding “a skewed version of who Jesus really is.”Josh’s childhood experience of religion in a small town in Indiana was characterized by strict rules and a leadership that discouraged asking questions. After graduating high school, Josh left in search of something more — and, for a time, that meant walking away from the faith he had been taught. “I never said, ‘oh, God isn't real,’ or ‘I don't believe in Him,’” Josh explains. “I simply put Him on the back burner, because I didn't understand who He was. I didn't have a real relationship with Him.”Lured by the glimmer of earthly success and financial freedom, Josh devoted himself entirely to entrepreneurship. And Josh was very successful — until it all came crashing down. The Refining Fires of Tragedy, Confusion, and Lack of IdentityBy earthly definitions, Josh had built an amazing career. He had a huge social media following with high engagement levels, and his agency was generating tens of thousands of dollars in revenue every month. But despite those external accomplishments, Josh felt hollow and unfulfilled. Entrepreneurship had become all-consuming to him, trapping him in a constant cycle of hustling and grinding to achieve more and fuel his sense of self-worth.But when Josh’s brother was killed in a tragic accident, Josh’s perspective shifted. “The whole identity of wanting to be an entrepreneur, to have a $100 million company and be famous, meant nothing,” he realized. That realization set Josh on a journey in search of clarity, peace, and the true meaning of success. He sold his company and left to travel the world with his wife, but a sudden health crisis cut the trip short and drained his savings account. In just under a year, he had gone from seemingly having it all to having almost nothing.“How did I end up here?”Lost and confused, Josh hired a coach, who asked him one simple but profound question: “Who are you?”“That was probably the most powerful question that I’ve ever been asked,” Josh says in retrospect. Josh’s journey had only just begun, but now he had a sense of direction: he needed to uncover his true identity. Finding Freedom and Purpose in ChristThe journey to rebuild Josh’s identity took several months of laser-focused work. “Nothing else in the world mattered except for figuring out the answer to the question of ‘who am I?’” Josh recalls. By the end of that focused period, Josh had not only come to a better understanding of himself and regained a sense of normalcy, but he had also taken the first steps back into faith and a belief that God had a purpose for his life. However, something was still missing: an understanding of what his purpose was, and a direct relationship with Jesus. Then, while watching a televised worship service one night, Josh encountered Jesus in an earth-shattering moment of clarity and surrender. In that moment, Josh felt the presence of Jesus and understood that it was time to turn over his life — all of it — to Jesus Himself. “That's when my life changed,” Josh says. “I woke up the next day and was like, ‘I know what to do now.’ For the first time, I felt like I had pu

Ep 15Pursuing Purpose and Living Life as an Adventure with God | Ginger Stache (Full Episode)

Ginger Stache is an Emmy Award-winning documentarian, author, and the Chief Creative Officer of Joyce Meyer ministries. But her journey to this fulfilling role has been anything but straightforward. As a young college student, Ginger found herself torn between the safe career path of medicine and the riskier pursuit of her true passion: storytelling. Choosing to follow her heart and trust God's leading, Ginger set out on a winding road through the world of journalism, talk shows, and television production. Along the way, she discovered her gift for crafting compelling narratives and her calling to use media as a tool for ministry. Now, as a key leader at Joyce Meyer ministries, Ginger combines her skills as a storyteller with a heart for God and people, creating content that inspires, encourages, and transforms lives around the globe. Whether she's writing books, hosting Joyce's Talk It Out podcast, or championing the cause of women and girls through Project Girl, Ginger’s work is marked by authenticity, creativity, and a deep commitment to Christ. In this wide-ranging conversation, Ginger shares candidly about learning to discern God's voice, embracing seasons of waiting, and discovering the unexpected purpose in the detours and disappointments of life. She offers practical wisdom on everything from leadership and collaboration to parenting and pursuing your God-given dreams. Through it all, Ginger’s infectious joy and unshakable faith will leave you inspired to trust God's plan for your own life, even when the path ahead is uncertain. If you're ready to step out of your comfort zone and into the great adventure that God has for you, this episode is the perfect place to stop to start. So grab a cup of coffee, settle in, and get ready to be encouraged, challenged, and equipped to live your unique story with passion, purpose, and an unwavering trust in the Author of it all.Life Is Not a Straight Path: Learning to Trust the Process Ginger Stache is a woman of many passions, and she has worn many hats throughout her career. Although she started out studying medicine — following the advice of others who believed it was the “right” choice for her — her true love was in storytelling.Upon choosing to follow God’s prompting instead of other’s well-intentioned but misguided advice, Ginger switched to journalism and broadcasting. Her career led her from hosting a talk show to working on documentaries and, eventually, her current role at Joyce Myer Ministries. “Your path is not always a really straight one,” Ginger likes to say. “But God takes all those wiggles and makes them make sense.”Ginger’s story is an excellent example of how masterfully God can bring the various pieces of our lives together into a beautiful mosaic for His glory. Although she acknowledges that it can be difficult to know for sure what God is calling us to do, she has also seen that God’s wisdom and understanding are much higher than ours. As long as we earnestly seek to follow His will, He will lead us in the path He has laid out for us — even if it means redirecting our steps. “Even if I make a mistake along the way, He's going to redeem it, as long as my heart is always chasing after Him,” Ginger explains. “So I don't think you can fall off a cliff and miss God's will.”Of course, this does not mean we will understand everything God leads us to do. Sometimes, we may not understand why we must tread a certain path, or how it connects to the rest of our journey. In times of uncertainty, we must simply trust the process and trust that God will make something beautiful out of it — because, as Ginger says, “There’s something to learn on every path.”The Power of Wisdom: Learning to Prioritize and DelegateGinger defines the wisdom that comes from God as something far beyond knowledge or experience. Rather, it’s an inward guidance that allows us to pull together all the pieces of our lives, trusting God to help us navigate what we are unable to handle on our own.Wisdom empowers us, filling us with purpose and confidence to manage numerous responsibilities at once. By learning to prioritize, we are able to do what Ginger calls “focused multitasking”: giving the majority of our attention to the tasks and people who need it most at this time without neglecting the other important areas of our lives. Furthermore, by learning to delegate tasks to others, not only do we save ourselves time and energy that would be better spent elsewhere, but we also provide the opportunity for the people helping us to grow and improve their own skill sets. “We [must] shift our priorities,” Ginger says, “from ‘I want to do everything’ to ‘What are the key things that only I can do, and what are the things that I can allow that will empower and teach and show other people love?’”On an Adventure with God: Lessons Learned Along the WayBeing involved with various outreach projects and missions through Joyce Meyers Ministries has taught Ginger several important lessons about Chris

Ep 14Resilience and Vision in Christian Leadership | Dr. Jacqueline King (Full Episode)

Dr. Jacqueline King is the visionary behind Black Women Empowered, a thriving online community and ministry network dedicated to inspiring, connecting, and uplifting black women around the world. What began as a small Facebook group has grown into a multi-platform movement, reaching millions of members. But this journey from obedience to manifestation was anything but smooth. After losing her job unexpectedly, Dr. King found herself at a crossroads: give up on the vision, or trust God to provide. She chose to trust God and watched in awe as doors opened and resources materialized in miraculous ways. For over a decade, Dr. King poured into her community without any financial compensation, fueled by a deep conviction that this was her God-appointed assignment. Her strong faith and resilience in the face of obstacles set an example for what's possible when we say yes to God's call. Now, with the launch of the Black Women Empowered Directory, Dr. King is taking the ministry to new heights, creating a space for black women, entrepreneurs, leaders, and creatives to showcase their talents, connect with each other, and access valuable resources to help them thrive. In this inspiring conversation, Dr. King shares her hard-won wisdom about hearing from God, birthing a vision, building a team, and leaving a legacy. Her story will remind you that, no matter how long the journey or how great the opposition, God is faithful to complete the good work that He's begun in you. If you've ever wrestled with questions of purpose, provision, or perseverance, this episode is for you. Get ready to be encouraged, empowered, and equipped to pursue your God-given dreams with fresh faith and tenacity. Choosing Resilience and Obedience in the Face of DiscouragementToday, Dr. Jacqueline King’s accomplishments are a testament to a type of success that is also a blessing to others. But although she says God gave her the vision for her ministry, Black Women Empowered, about 12 years ago, she initially resisted His call to quit her job. But, as Dr. King says, “God doesn’t take no for an answer.” Not long after, she lost her job. “You’re wise if you’re listening to God instead of ignoring what He’s saying,” she adds. “Because it’s going to turn out in His favor anyway.”After being let go from her position, Dr. King obeyed God’s call and laid the groundwork for Black Women Empowered. She started up a Facebook group, with the simple desire to encourage those women to grow in their relationships with God, themselves, and each other. Over time, Black Women Empowered expanded across numerous platforms and grew from 200 to millions of members. Through this ministry, Dr. King uplifts and advocates for fellow black women, encouraging them to embrace the person God made each of them to be and to trust Him in the face of fear, uncertainty, and even failure. But this amazing growth did not happen overnight. Dr. King spent a lot of time posting in the group and receiving no response from the women she was trying to encourage. At times, she questioned whether she was doing the right thing. Many people would have given up in that situation. But Dr. King persisted, and her resilience paid off. “I don't believe that God gives you a vision without a provision,” she says now. “If He said ‘Do it,’ He's going to provide the means for it to come to fruition.”Building a Team that Supports the VisionNo matter the vision God has given you, it is essential to have good people in your life who can act as a voice of wisdom and help you bring that vision to life.Whether those people only stay with you for a season or walk alongside you throughout your entire journey, choose your support system carefully. As Dr. King has learned, the right people will support your God-given dream instead of dragging you down with negativity. “God gives the vision to the visionary,” Dr. King says. “He doesn't give it to the people. And so if you’ve got people that are trying to alter your vision, then they're not supposed to be part of it.”By surrounding herself with positive people whose skills supplement her own, Dr. King has been able to build a community of like-minded individuals who can support, encourage, and help each other achieve success. Overcoming Hesitation About MonetizingFor years, Dr. King ran her ministry for free. But as the Black Women Empowered Directory — and the number of women she had been able to help — grew, she heard God prompting her: it was time to monetize her services. Many Christian leaders hesitate to monetize what they view as their ministry, often out of fear of how others will perceive them. But Dr. King views it simply as being compensated for her work and earning the necessary funds to cover her ministry’s expenses. “I don't believe that God intends for us to struggle, especially if we're doing his work,” she explains. As Christian leaders, we must understand that the vision God has given us is big — but in order for it to impact thousands or millions

Although that early experience was very different from the type of ministry she operates today, it laid the foundation for her future leadership endeavors.Bethany had dreamed of becoming a teacher, but after the birth of her first child, she discovered a new desire to be a stay-at-home mom instead. As Bethany shared about her motherhood journey on social media, other women started coming to her for advice and encouragement. “I’m able to just walk alongside other women and encourage them, and to say, ‘I'm there right now, or I've been there before; here's what I've learned. Let’s learn together,’” she explains. As Bethany has learned, there is no manual about how to be a perfect mother or wife. By sharing candidly about her own joys, hardships, and everything in between, however, Bethany is able to uplift the members of her online community and offer the help and guidance they need. Running a Business on the RoadFinding support and community can be extremely difficult in today’s fast-paced world. For Bethany and her family, who currently live on the road in an RV, isolation can be especially difficult to navigate. In this challenging and exciting season of their lives, a few things have helped Bethany and her family stay connected while traveling and running a business full-time.Finding community online and among other travelers has helped them battle isolation and also serve others who struggle to find support. They have had to build routines and schedules around their life on the road that allow them to care for their family’s needs without neglecting their business.Self-discipline has been an essential practice for juggling multiple responsibilities at once.“It's been amazing to see a business begin to grow,” Bethany says. “To see this dream that we talked about for so many years, and to be living it out now. That's the biggest reward of it all.”Waiting for God’s Perfect TimingAlthough building their business and traveling full-time had been a longtime dream for Bethany and her husband, they kept putting the idea off, hesitating to take the plunge. Their dream would require Bethany’s husband to quit his job, and both felt like the time just wasn’t right. Then Bethany’s husband unexpectedly lost his job. Having prayed for months that God would clearly confirm the right path for them to take, they knew this was it: it was time to make their dream a reality. In hindsight, Bethany is thankful that they waited for that confirmation. If they hadn’t, it would be easy to blame themselves on difficult days and assume they had gone against God’s will. Instead, they can rest in the knowledge that they are doing exactly what God has called them to do.“You're going to have hard days, no matter what you do,” Bethany says. “The important thing is just how you do it, and making sure that you're walking with God in it and seeking His face on all of those decisions.”Navigating Challenges in Family Life and BusinessEven with God’s clear guidance, raising a family and building a business are not easy undertakings. Over time, Bethany and her husband have developed several practical strategies to navigate the personal and professional challenges that come their way. Keep an open line of communication. By sharing all of their struggles with each other, Bethany and her husband are able t

You won't want to miss a minute of this powerful conversation!Watch or listen to Aaron’s full interview on YouTube and Apple Podcasts! The Road to Filmmaking SuccessAaron Burns says that, as a child, he could often be found fighting imaginary dragons in his backyard. “I grew up with a dad who told me stories every night and a mom who gave me good books to read,” he explains. “So my head was pumped full of storytelling, a love of adventure, and a sense of timelessness.”Eventually, that foundational love of storytelling would lead Aaron to a career in filmmaking. But within the community of his hometown in Michigan, entrepreneurship — especially in a creative field — was not considered a “real job.” So, for much of his life, Aaron viewed making movies as a hobby, not a potential career path. All that changed during Aaron’s teenage years, when he and his cousin decided to move away from their usual backyard movies and make a legitimate feature film — which was much easier said than done. They pooled college funds and donations from church friends, but there simply wasn’t enough money to bring their vision to life. Trusted family members told Aaron and his cousin that only a miracle could make this movie possible, and that it was foolish to take such a risk. “I remember saying, ‘God, if you want us to do it, then you will have to lead,’” Aaron recalls. Trusting in God to lead the way, Aaron and his cousin persevered. Ultimately, not only did that first movie — a faith-based family adventure film called Pendragon — successfully bring in a small return on their investment, but it also set Aaron on the path to making adventure movies to reach families with a message of faith. The road to success has been long, with plenty of wins and losses along the way, but — in Aaron’s words — “there's no such thing as a straight road from where you are to where you dream of going.”The Role of Discipleship in Achieving Our God-Given DreamsAaron’s story highlights the importance of trusting God to provide when everyone around you says your vision is impossible. But it also reveals the crucial role that godly mentors play in helping us achieve our God-given dreams. For Aaron, having trusted mentors in his life has helped him both attain success and navigate failure. From a friend in college who taught Aaron about effective Christian leadership to an investor who stayed by Aaron’s side even after the next movie lost all the money he had invested, Aaron’s mentors have helped him grow his faith and his profession, and have taught him that discipleship is about walking with someone through all of the joys and hardships of life. “I think that discipleship and mentoring is probably the single most important factor in developing as a person,” he says. “If you are not discipling someone else, and you're not being discipled, then you're failing the Great Commission. And that's like your number one job as a follower of Jesus.”As we pursue our passions and dreams, it’s easy for us to become isolated and try to do things on our own. But Aaron’s story illuminates the importance of strong relationships with others who are experienced in following Jesus. Through community and following godly examples, we can truly grow into all that God wants us to be.The Impact of Failure and the True Measure of SuccessAaron’s second film seemed poised for even bigger success than his first. Miraculous, last-minute funding made Beyond the Mask possible, and Aaron and his team were pleased with the finished product. But complications arose in the distribution stage, when the distribution company went bankrupt, draining all of the movie’s revenue so they couldn’t repay investors. To make matters worse, shortly after t

Ep 7Humility and Transparency in Christian Leadership | Nadya Williams

Many people hope that becoming a Christian will make their lives easier. But, as author Nadya Williams has learned, this isn’t usually the case. From biblical figures to present-day Christian leaders, anyone can fall into the trap of sin and pride. While having a large platform is a great opportunity to point others to Christ, it can also lead to “Christian celebrities” who tend to draw more attention to themselves instead. “Jesus’ promises are not for this world,” Nadya says. “That’s a really difficult lesson for all of us, including for me.”But by following examples like that of the Apostle Paul, staying humble and open about our struggles, and keeping Christ at the center of everything we do, Nadya reminds us that we can use our platforms for the Kingdom of God and not only for our own benefit. Stay tuned for the full episode!BIO:Nadya Williams (Ph.D., Classics and Program in the Ancient World, Princeton University) is a military historian of the Greco-Roman world and the co-editor of Civilians and Warfare in World History.
