The stigma of being strong and Black in today's society affects many young people. Identifying who you are within your own culture can also be a challenging task when you're not sure how to truly love and honor yourself. In today's episode, André Carpenter, Licensed Professional Counselor and Xi Tau Chapter member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. joins us to share how to reduce anxiety that comes from expecting too much from yourself too soon. Learn how to stop the rampant thoughts and tap into your own vulnerability. André completed his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans, Louisiana and he received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications at Wright State University in Daytona, Ohio. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, André is a National Certified Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor in Ohio, and Provisional Licensed Counselor in Louisiana. He is a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion group facilitator with JP Enterprises, and as the founder of Fokus 4Ward LLC, he offers counseling and consulting services. Married 16 years to his wife, Dr. D'Wan Carpenter, they have four children and now offer Relationship Coaching to those who are married or desire to be soon.
