A Lil' Treat: Jessie’s Ready To Tell Her Twin Birth Story
bonusShe’s 10 days on. She’s splitting her time and her heart between home and hospital, and she wants to share her story with you, Outlouders. Our beloved co-host Jessie Stephens gave birth to her boy-girl twins last week, earlier than hoped, and became a mum all over again. There will be so many of you who’ll relate to this story of terror-tinged joy, who will recognise the awe and exhaustion in Jessie’s voice, and who will want to send her so much love as she and her little family find their way through a new normal. Jessie’s rock, her twin sister Clare Stephens as well as Emily Vernem and Holly Wainwright are asking the questions:. How much time did she get “off” before the babies came? What was the first thing that happened when they did? How is Luna? How is Luca? Can she finally eat chocolate again? And how is she staying sane and hopeful? A very special episode. This summer we've curated your Baby Bubble playlist with a healthy dose of culture-savvy conversation parents actually want - Parenting Out Loud. Parenting can involve big ideas, public debates and the odd festive guilt trip - and this week, we’re tackling all three. S2 Ep 4Veronica Milsom Staged An Experiment On Her Second Baby
If you hadn't heard, babies generate a lot of waste. Like, more waste than we care to admit. So naturally swinging from one extreme (environmental disaster) to another (zero waste) should be a seamless, obvious choice, right? WRONG. S2 Ep 1We've Never Been More Tired And Now There's A Nappy In The Fridge
It's no surprise how unpredictable a baby's sleep schedule may be. What never ceases to amaze us though, is just how someone else's sleep cycle can totally throw off another persons brain function. Like, forget what day of the week it is, or drive off with your phone on top of the car because you're so tired kind of brain function. Just ask today's special guest Claire Hooper; she's thrown a sleep deprivation tantrum or two in her time. S1 Ep 8The Six Month Check Up No Mum Asked For
It’s time for the six month check up, which is apparently a thing we weren’t aware of. So, how are we fairing in the baby bubble thus far? Well, we’re still being kept awake at night by the concerning shape of our babies heads, but at least we’re raising tiny geniuses. S1 Ep 7I Tried To Leave The House And Now Everyone's Crying
Leaving the house pre-baby: get ready, grab phone and keys, leave. Now: it's been four hours and two changes later, we're all crying and I've forgotten a spare onsie. From forgetting what to pack, a negativity toward umbrellas and a magic bag these are all the ways we've survived, not thrived, leaving the house. He doesn't feel any guilt about outsourcing. I feel guilt about everything. S1 Ep 5"Sleep And Routines And HAHAHAHAHA"
There are two questions every new parent dreads... Are you in a routine yet? How’s the baby sleeping?Bedtimes, routines and the idea of sleeping through the night all feel like wild west concepts while you’re in the baby bubble. S1 Ep 4Find Your Village & Get The F**k Out Of My House
The village is there for the vibes. Nothing says “here if you need” like rocking up unannounced, disrupting the routine, dirtying some dishes and then ducking out when the baby starts crying.' They say it takes a village… but what they forget to tell you is that the village can kind of be annoying. Look, we’re not being ungrateful. Mostly, we’re just really bored & tired. S1 Ep 3Boobs, Bottles And BTW You're Doing Everything Wrong
Feeding is weirdly high stakes… Whether you’re breastfeeding, formula feeding or dare we say it bottle feeding, everyone’s got an opinion on how to do it better. The fun thing about giving your baby nutrients is that it’s uniquely cooked for every individual. And don’t even get us started on breast pumps. Just because you had a baby, doesn’t mean Barbie didn’t just come out. You know what’s a totally fun and not at all terrifying experience? Taking your first dump after giving birth. It can basically only be topped by your first post-birth shower, which looks more like a crime scene than a shampoo commercial. S1 Ep 1"Hi. Um, I Don't Know You"
I don't mean to be rude, but who tf are you?Let's be honest, giving birth is like the most intense first date ever. You show up at the designated place nervously excited to meet your date, only for them to show up late and basically whinge the whole time. And then you're obligated to be with them.
