This week on The Austin Young Show, Veronica and I are down for the count – we're both sick as hell! But even a nasty bug can't stop us from celebrating some amazing news: The Austin Young Show has been nominated for Best Podcast AND I've been nominated for Best Podcast Host at the Dallas Entertainment Awards and Veronica got nominated for Best Music Festival (Deep Ellum Block Party)! We're beyond stoked! To celebrate, I'm spinning some tunes from some of my favorite nominated bands, including Cayuga All Stars with their Cholo Goth vibes, the SKA-core mayhem of Hans Gruber and The Die Hards, the raw energy of King Clam, the dance punk feels of Overshare, the pop-punk sounds of Further North, the heavy hitters Toxic Madness, the powerful Two-Watts, the surfy sounds of Asshats, and the dark beauty of Rosegarden Funeral Party. Plus, I’ll be giving shout-outs to all my incredible friends and colleagues who are nominated in the technical categories. It's a sniffly, celebratory, and music-filled episode – even though we sound like death, we're bringing the party!
