It's now over 28 years since a fresh-faced Michael Chang became the first player of Asian origin to win a Grand Slam, that at the 1989 French Open and while Li Na has claimed two slams since then the closest any man has come since is Kei Nishikori’s runner-up spot at the 2014 US Open.
