The Sidecar has been a popular cocktail since inception around WWI and the jury is still out on who invented it, but we try to sort that out. This is also the cocktail that inspired Jules to launch her career in mixology. You don’t wan to to miss this episode
SIDECAR and rich simple syrup
Making simple syrup, 2 cup demerara sugar to 1 cup water - bring to boil, simmer for 5 Let cool
Chill your coupe glass
Juice your lemon
Sprinkle some granulated sugar on a small plate
Grab your glass from freezer
Rim halfway around top of coupe glass w/lemon wedge and dab in sugar
Add to shaker
- ¼ oz of Rich (2:1) demerara sugar
- ¾ oz of lemon juice
- ¾ oz of Cointreau or Dry Curacao
- 2 oz of cognac
- Ice (in small side)
SHAKE! IT!
Double strain into coupe glass
Garnish with orange peel
SPARKLING SIDE CAR
Chill your coupe glass
Juice your lemon
Grab your glass from freezer
Rim halfway around top of coupe glass w/lemon wedge and dab in sugar
Add to shaker
- 1½ oz of Cognac
- ¾ oz Cointreau
- ¾ oz lemon juice
- ½ oz pear liqueur
SHAKE! IT!
Double strain into coupe glass
Top of with bubbles (campegne)
Garnish with dehydrated citrus wheel
