Good evening. Arizona. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside and you're feeling serious heat, we're talking 91 degrees in Phoenix right now. That's well above normal for mid-March, in fact, we're on the verge of a historic weather pattern. A massive ridge of high pressure is building, it's going to bring record-breaking temperatures this week. As the sun sets. Let's look at tonight, expect mostly clear skies statewide. In Central Arizona, lows drop to about 59 degrees, down in Southern Arizona around Tucson, you'll see a low near 51. Up north in Flagstaff, it cools to 33. Winds in the high country stay gusty, with west winds hitting 18 miles an hour. Sunday brings more sun, phoenix climbs back to 91 degrees. Tucson reaches 87. The mountains warm to 66, a cold front clips the north, so expect cooler temps there. Looking ahead, the story turns to extreme heat, while highs in Phoenix surge past 100 by Wednesday. We could hit 106 by Friday, that would shatter records. Tucson tops out near 104, this is dangerous heat. An Extreme Heat Watch is in effect for Southern Arizona starting Thursday, while folks, this is serious. Don't leave kids or pets in cars, check on your neighbors. See you tomorrow.
