David Johnston has recommended against a public inquiry, which is really convenient for Justin Trudeau, who has spent months coming up with excuses as to why extent of China’s interference in Canadians should not get a public hearing. The Conservatives and NDP are united in seeking a public inquiry, though NDP leader Jagmeet Singh doesn’t believe strongly enough about it to use his trump card – pulling support of the Liberals.
