Show Notes
“It puts creators’ livelihoods at risk.” Those were the words from Scott Benzie, Managing Director of Digital First Canada. He was one of many witnesses who testified in front of the Senate Committee on Transport and Communications about the controversial Bill C-11. More specifically Section 4.2, which exempts user generated content from the proposed bill. This bill has been heavily debated amongst parliamentarians, senators, and everyday people and it could cause a lot of harm if passed. Senator Leo Housakos joins Alex to talk about this and the dangers that could come from this bill.
