Using the 2016 United States presidential election as an example, Justin Trudeau and the Liberal government want to ensure Canadian voters that that sort of meddling will not happen in our next federal election, To do so, an internal team will monitor, flag and announce any possible meddling attempts. While it all sounds well and good, Elections Canada, the nation's independent and non-partisan group, who has oversaw the Canadian voting process for almost 100 years, doesn't have a seat at the table.
