People can't pay their bills and that's a problem. There's a reason the Bank of Canada didn't hike interest rates this week and that's because Canadians wouldn't be able to cope. Debt is rising, interest rates are creeping up and so are bankruptcy rates. With so many Canadians struggling to keep afloat in the sea of debt, how can the government sincerely say that they're making it easier on the middle class?
