We're not so much discovering facts anymore as we are navigating a museum of staged exhibits, set pieces and spectacles dressed up as reality. Somewhere along the way, the world went from being a place of discovery to a curated hallucination. At the center of that hallucination sits a theme, so consistent it becomes almost invisible: control.
