Episode 129 “Fortune’s hiding right now, seriously where is it!?”

Nick is joined by Jam (@Carefree_Jam) from The Chelsea Social (@TheChelsSocial) to discuss Chelsea’s 3-1 loss at West Ham. We bemoan Chelsea once again starting poorly and going behind before praising the reaction in the rest of the first half. Carney Chukwuemeka got a deserved leveller for the blues but unfortunately he was the latest player to go off injured. Raheem Sterling played well his performance is praised even by Jam! He won a penalty that unfortunately Enzo failed to convert & we discuss who should take penalties. That was as good as it got with Chelsea starting the second half poorly going 2-1 down to thanks to Antonio & not recovering. Moisés Caicedo made his debut off the bench & it was one to forget with him giving away a late penalty. Reece James is injured again 🙃. Lewis Hall looks set to leave for Newcastle🙃. On a happier note Roméo Lavia has signed to bolster the midfield. And more good news followed with Hakim Ziyech leaving on loan with the obligation to make it permanent to Galatasary. Finally we answer listener questions on: -Why do we come out asleep for second halves? -Should we expect more of these results with such a raw squad? -How much tinkering will Poch do? -Worst debut since? Hazard back? -Sterling left Noni right? -Is this spending having negative impact on coaching of the team? Episode 128 “An Axel to grind”

Nick is joined by Jéssica Frota (@Je_Frota) as Chelsea’s premier league season got under way with a 1-1 draw vs Liverpool thanks to Axel Disasi’s debut goal. It was an encouraging performance as Chelsea came from a goal down to earn a point in Poch’s first game. It was a shaky start but after that lots of players grew into it with Colwill, Enzo, Gallagher & Jackson singled out for praise. With Nkunku’s injury worse than initially feared it’s a blow & we discuss the impact that will have as well as the opportunity it opened up for Carney Chukwuemeka who slowly grew into the game. Robert Sanchez’s debut is assessed as well as Kepa’s seemingly imminent loan to Madrid with Jéss giving her verdict on who she’d like Chelsea to sign. Reece James & Ben Chilwell we’re announced as captain & vice captains & we give our thoughts on that. The Moisés Caicedo saga is coming to an end, Jéss shares her excitement on his imminent arrival. A deal for Tyler Adams fell through which Nick isn’t sorry about & finally Romeo Lavia could also join. That’d be nice. Finally we answer listener questions on: -Andrey Santos future -Who was our MOTM -Should attacking changes have been made earlier -What does Mudryk need to do to start over Sterling -Disasi & Colwill narrow at points, deliberate or mistake -3 key takeaways from game positive & negative Until the next episode KTBFFH 💙 Follow us on Twitter/X - https://mobile.twitter.com/thatchelseapod Follow Jéssica - https://twitter.com/je_frota?s=21&t=g5zPb49WBLToqZiZgpCx-w We’re on threads now - https://www.threads.net/@thatchelseapod If you wish to get in contact with us via email - [email protected] Join our FPL league - https://fantasy.premierleague.com/leagues/auto-join/ymo3ok Learn more about your ad choices. Episode 126 “Season Review”

Nick is joined by Daniel Childs (@SonOfChelsea) for the 38th and final episode of the season. First up we give initial opening thoughts on the season just gone before breaking down Chelsea’s season into three parts. Finally we reflect on life after his departure with Bruno Saltor’s one and only game in charge and then Frank Lampard’s 11 game spell. We look back at our predictions we made on the pod at the end of July, some which were miles off the mark & some that were scarily accurate. Then we move onto our season awards. The awards are as follows: Goal of the season Player of the season Most improved player Unsung hero Player with biggest turnaround Most disappointing player Match of season High point of the season Moment of the season Funny moment of season Biggest disappointment (moment/match) Manager of the season We reflect on the careers of those who are leaving the club & discuss the owner’s statement that was released Thursday. Episode 106 “(belated) Félix Navidad”

Nick & is joined by Tom Coley (@tomcoley49) from football.london (@Football_LDN) & Travis Flock (@Crossroads_CFC) to look back at another busy week at Chelsea. Firstly we discuss the arrival of João Félix, what our initial reaction was and now how we’re feeling about it after his debut at Fulham. He was the only real bright spot in a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Fulham which is what we reflect upon next with a shambolic defensive display on show and we rue the injury to Denis Zakaria. Next up the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk is on the agenda with the blues beating Arsenal to his signature. We then move onto discuss Chelsea’s 11th consecutive premier league victory over Crystal Palace and 12th in all comps. We praise the debut of Benoît Badiashile who looked very assured out there. We heap praise on a more mature Conor Gallagher performance in the centre of the park. Kepa made some crucial saves days after his clanger at Fulham proved costly in defeat as we talk the good and the bad of Kepa and if keeper is a position that needs urgent addressing. Kai Havertz scored the winning goal and we ask if he’s playing for his future given the recent attacking arrivals. Lewis Hall’s recent performances are talked about before praise is added to Jorginho and Hakim Ziyech for their roles in the much needed win. Nick is joined by Jam (@Carefree_Jam) from The Chelsea Social (@TheChelsSocial) to look back on a sad week on & off the pitch for Chelsea. Firstly we pay tribute to the life of legend Gianluca Vialli who sadly lost his battle with cancer. We then look back at a spirited display that was ultimately not enough to prevent the blues falling to a 1-0 home defeat to Manchester City in the premier league. It was more pain at the hands of Manchester City with a third meeting of the season in the FA Cup 3rd round resulting in a spineless 4-0 defeat which we dissect. Finally we answer questions on: -Gallagher’s enthusiasm a hinderance? -Start looking at players being here next season? -How much has on-field performance dampened positivity on progress made behind scenes? -How much leniency does Potter get this season? -Should Potter stick to 4-3-3? -How many players of squad would you keep next season? -What you seen so far to be positive for rest of season? -What has manager done to get benefit of doubt?
