Nick is joined by Patrick Larson (@ptp_coyb) & Jéssica Frota (@Je_Frota) to discuss Chelsea’s disappointing 3-1 first leg loss at home to Real Madrid. We give credit to the class of Karim Benzema who showed what a world class striker looks like. We rue missed opportunities and frustrating errors, ask if that was the low point in the season before praising Kai Havertz the one player who showed he belonged at this stage.
We then discuss Chelsea’s sensational 6-0 win away at Southampton. We heap praise on Mason Mount who looked back to his best starring with two goals & assist. We praise Timo Werner’s performance after he scored twice and wish he could play Southampton every week with the German notching up his 5th league goal vs them out of his 9 career league goals.
Finally we answer listener questions on whether this Timo performance can be a turning point in his career or if this just shows a false glimmer of hope.
