Carol Grundle became involved with the animal rights rescue mission, The Sofi Project, while on a pilgrimage to see John of God in Brazil. Her love for animals moved her to become a foster for stray animals brought from the region to be placed in loving homes in the U.S. She and her husband Igor are in the preventive health care field and reside in Sarasota, Florida, with their two teenage boys and nine animals.
