"Hindi nila ako nilubayan ng katatanong kung ako'y kaanib sa subersibong organisasyon, at samantalang ako'y tinatanong ay dinanas ko ang halos lahat ng uri ng pagpapahirap. Kasama na rito ang paglubog sa akin sa drum na puno ng tubog na patuwad akong inilulubog, at kapag ako'y halos patay na ay saka lamang ako iaahon," reads the affidavit of a man who was imprisoned for nine months in 1978.
