Show Notes

As the next International Coastal Cleanup Day draws near, we remember the contributions of the late marine scientist Dr. Miguel Fortes who passed away in April of this year. Dr. Fortes saw the beauty in ordinary seagrass—the so-called “lungs of the sea”—sharing its importance in sustaining local communities and defending us from climate change.

Featuring snippets of our 2021 interview with Dr. Fortes in "Saving seagrasses in the Philippines", an episode from the podcast Climate-smart Fisheries. Listen to the full episode here
