While teachers are constantly looking for ways to interest students and get them to share their ideas, classroom discussions can often be challenging or even unproductive. In this episode, Allan and Chad discuss ways that teachers can frame discussion topics to help students gain clarity and better share their ideas. Also, they describe several options for integrating technology into classroom discussion activities, including Jamboard templates, Nearpod Collaborate Boards, Padlet boards, commenting on Google Docs, and video responses on Flip. While face to face conversation is still a vital part of classroom discussion, these integrations can go a long way to creating opportunities for all students to share their ideas and participate in classroom discussions.
