My guest today is Craig Douglas, an interdisciplinary defensive training instructor operating globally under the ShivWorks brand, specializing in meshing wrestling-based combatives with close quarters shooting.
In this episode, Craig unpacks what it means to take an "andragogical" approach to teaching coursework and why its a more effective way to help students learn. He also explains why he believes instructors actually coach their students too much -- a phenomenon born out of traditional pedagogy that is not optimal for an andragogical approach.
