Ep 40. Yorm Ackuaku - One Foot In Front of the Other

In this episode # 40, we'll be speaking with Yorm Ackuaku. Born and raised in Ghana, Yorm moved to the US for college when she was only 19 years old. After college, she worked primarily in the corporate world, including positions in accounting, finance, business, and consulting. Yorm was pulled into the food world from her experiences living abroad when she realized the limited representation of African foods in major cities and in food media. This discovery inspired Yorm to found esSense 13, a food media platform that amplifies the work of African chefs and food entrepreneurs around the world. Yorm also hosts her own podcast about African-inspired cuisines, called Item 13.
