Show Notes
The U.S. Postal Service is seeking a 4.8% increase in first-class stamp prices, from $0.78 to $0.82, starting July 12th. This comes as theyve already approved an 8% surcharge on priority mail and packages, effective April 26th, to cover rising fuel and transport costs. Postmaster General Louis Steiner warned of potential insolvency by February 2027 if Congress doesnt raise the borrowing limit and allow long-term price increases, such as $0.95 per stamp. These changes are part of their ten-year survival plan.
