Three individuals lost their lives in a four-vehicle collision near Polk City on Sunday evening. The incident occurred on Commonwealth Avenue, where a motorcycle couple from Floridas Suncoast area were riding southbound alongside each other. A seventy-five-year-old man from Clermont, driving a Dodge Charger, attempted to overtake three vehicles while heading north, resulting in a head-on collision with the motorcycles. The Chargers driver succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, while his wife sustained minor wounds. A nearby Jeep was also involved, but its driver escaped unscathed. The crash caused significant delays, with Commonwealth Avenue remaining closed for approximately four and a half hours. Authorities have not yet announced any charges, as the investigation continues.
